The Mobius Loop
After seeing a episode of Witchblade which had some referance too what was called a Mobius Loop, it sort of raised my interest because of the name. :)
After I looked up a few things about this loop a lot of things sort of came together for me. It's obvious now where they got the name from and the symbol on his forehead. Not only does that symbol mean infinity but it's also called a Mobius Loop. :) Found a few fun links about the subject, one of them includes something about timetravelling. ;) http://www.cix.co.uk/~antcom/mtl.html http://www.illustratedillusions.com/trick26.htm Another fun fact, you know the Recycle symbol (the three arrows following eachother), is also called a Mobius Loop. So maybe Moebius is all high on recycling. :D :D :p |
Moebius loops are eerie, since they're a physical object with only one side =).

In a "Moebius Loop", where did the name Moebius come from?
|
August Ferdinand Mobius, a 19th century German mathematician and astronomer. It can be found in the first link ;).

Wow... I never made that connection before.. or maybe it was so simple I never made a conscious connection. Don't forget the mobius Strip.. strip.. loop.. same difference... Escher did a drawing of it.. Also Douglas Hofstadter's .. Godel, Escher, Bach makes reference to the mobius strip.. as well as explains how all three of these people.. a mathematician, artist and musician all use the concept in their form.. that of the paradox and the loop and so on ...there's also an Orbital song called Time Becomes.. which is an attempt at the same concept using Warf's voice.. which is somewhat amusing..

I used a Mobius strip in math a couple of years ago...And I noticed the name instantly.
