I would imagine no to questions 1,5 and 6. You can buy cars, off the blackmarket. I would imagine the posts are more about the location than the activity itself, and might be part of some missions in the gameplay.

Hmm about skiing but at least the civilians will be skiing from the sounds of it, ahh there'l be a new headline coming soon 'Freak Accident with Skier and Mystery Grapple' :D About buying cars I forgot about Black Market cars so the answers to that question for you Forsinein because why have a normal car then a mounted weapon one. As for Forsinein's 2nd question, not too bothered about hiring aircraft as you can just steal it ;)

I don't think this is confirmed. I think mycoldman threw that in there based off the video he posted on twitter a few days ago. The video showed a beached whale that was removed by blowing it up and letting the birds eat the left over bits.

To answer your second question, I would seriously not recommend it. wordpress.com will most certainly ban you from their servers. Also security is pretty tight these days on wordpress blogs.

I've tried to unscramble, but the site i found only lets you enter 9 letters at a time. So with that, I found that each word doesn't unscramble to anything that is english. Who knows what you could come up with if you tried to unscramble them all.

regarding the unusual spot on one of the images, they're both the same image. it's simply because the newspaper clipping on the blog is an 'old/used' copy of the paper. Just a mark. Note the difference of colour of the papers. I wouldn't look into the difference too much as it is not important.

i guys i tried like everything.. the numbers in the traingle, the president's name, rico, whale, i even tried carter_side (if u highlight his face in the about section for a while it says that)-turns out it was nothing special....

i got into the source code.. nothing of interest. i couldnt find a comment about the password and any url codes for the password led me to a blank screen. (ie adding "wp-pass.php" to the end of the url)

It's way past sleepy time for us in the UK. You could be there for hours like all of us were. If only there was a stats counter for the amount of password attempts made, it would be very close to 5,000 so far I would imagine...

I think it has something to do with the following words and or images, but first i'd like to know if we truly have to guess the passwords, seeing it would be against the rules if we didn't.

while actually thinking about it, I don't think this all is meant for an announcement for DLC or something like that, I'd rather think about something said in my previous post like new enemy factions, or perhaps the storyline (you know, whales die within the range of oil factory's most of the time or get haunted) Just like the news announcement in the same paper about the airport.

Or cleaning the beaches from sperm whales with C-4 as secondary job, or side stories. We don't know yet. :P

That would be cool actually. Perhaps at one point in the game we speak to Rob, and he tells us about his WORK section on the site and gives us the password... and it's hints on how to progress quicker in the game. cool idea huh?

The map should be like the gta one, I've seen it in a vid or pic or something i can't remember where but they're not going to include a full scale novel with the game. The picture you posted is just a book with a prop cover to add realism to the james carter experiment.

Well, it could possibly be the cover of the booklet that will ship with the game. Many games have booklets designed to resemble the game world, rather than the box-art. Maybe its a mock-up of the booklet. Or maybe it is the front 'cover' of the game map that will come with the DLC, before you fold it out.

I like the translation difficulties from Panaun (I presume that is their national language?) to English. Particularly when they write "Panua" instead of "Panau" on the main heading! :D

Size 20 is the max possible length of the password. And yeah there was some code that pointed to a password.pgp. Pgp files are incredibly hard to decrypt without redirects and packet injection, so I believe we will be waiting

Exactly what I thought. You know the JC1 manual was a newspaper-type thing? Maybe the JC2 manual is written by Robert Carter. Or maybe it's the Panau Tribune. It's a functional password but you won't find it in the source code lol. That would defeat the purpose since everyone can view it. I code websites. That code is just the code for the form where you enter the password. The password works through a script somewhere in the back end of the site.

Here's something to think about:

(oh lol, I think I just found one of those eggs. I don't care about the hunt though >>)
They're stopping Oldmans because they are trying to find him. However, remember that at one post in his blog, he said that he "was quitting being a journalist and settling down at Panau", or something along those lines. Originally, he was vacationing there, so why did he suddenly decide he'd stop reporting, and settle down? And if he is, why can't we, or the government, find him? And how is he still posting things on the blog?!

My guess is, if this all means what I think it does, that Robert James Carter found something out he wasn't supposed to find out, or that he had some reason he had to go into hiding. This could be relevant to the oil that you find out about later in the game, or maybe something else. Maybe there are some clues to his whereabouts in his posts, such as the books he was reading, or something?
