I also have doubts about it having a vertical takeoff ability... I really hope so though, I would love nothing more than to casually hover through the city (like I did in San Andreas) or over a military base, completely razing it.

well ive always been a fan of the harrier so i expect this jet to have vtol in this game too. gta sa proved its possible(although i never had doubts about it). so why not?

In Modern Warfare 2 the Harrier Airstrike Killstreak is cool, because after the bombs hit, it will hover and shoot anything bad around it.

I doubt it does. It looks like a harrier but the looks of the engines look more similar to the Phantom. Think of it as a Harrier / Phantom Hybrid.

That's a REAL harrier. I'm talking about the harrier in the game. =_=

Edit : And I said the engines might be similar to the phantom. Small twin jet turbines at the side. Nobody has seen the bottom - back of the plane yet, so nobody knows. The reason I think this plane will have this type of engine is because it's very low tech compared to the VTOL capabilities that the Harrier has. A Phantom / Harrier hybrid would be very suitable for Panau don't you think?

Ok guys, you know they don't even have licences for real names but this thing is just based on a Harrier. Little changes in it's look mean nothing. It's the same with the Berkut, it's more pointy and looks a bit like a prototype, but just because it's a fictional copy based on a Berkut.
Anyway, I still hope it has VTOL capabilities. What would a Harrier-like plane do there if it was just another normal fighter?

i realy hope it can take off vertically and something else that realy bothers me in many games with planes.. the wheels are realy ugly..i mean lading gear .... i mean the whole plane looks beautifull and then when you look at the wheels they look like some crappy gray painted wooden wheels that dont even move when you taxi the plane :(
not that its realy bad or somthing but its somthing that every games almost has and i think its time for a change so JC2 will have NICE RIMS ON THE PLANES :D

I think this will do VTOL. There's dozens of other fighter jets to chose from IRL so the only real justification for putting this craft in the game is to have VTOL capabilties.

i would like it better that way because in sa i have no idea how it decided when it was in straight up and down mode and plane mode, it was so frustrating

yeah, it was kinda hard to figure out how you change between the modes.
but as soon as i found out that you do it with the right stick (hold up/down) it wasn't a problem anymore...

either way id love flying a harrier in this game whether or not it has VTOL capabilities. Its just one of those thing that make the game SO much better.

I think you can raise the wheels because on this picture notice it has wheels on the wings, and on the other pictures of it flying you can't see the wheels

I just really don't enjoy jets with no VTOL.. They just seem like faster regular airplanes to me. Whereas jets WITH VTOL are fun and stealthy ^.^

Ok, here goes... I'll try and answer a few more threads as the day goes on, but this should get things started.

1. Early articles claim that 'There are over 2,000 parts that the player can acquire' for weapons and vehicles for example, is this true?

This is true, but may not be what you are thinking. What the article is referring to is the collectible weapon and vehicle parts scattered throughout the island (there are thousands of these) that are then used to upgrade and purchase equipment via the black market. So, you'll need to seek them out in order to get the best kit and upgrade your vehicles and weapons from the bog standard to the hella cool.

That Zeppelin/Blimp flying vehicle, is that available for the player to fly, if so is it the mentioned Mobile Safe house?

I'm not going to say too much about the blimp... but I will say it's not a vehicle, so don't exepct to be piloting it around the island. It's huge... so its top speed would be unbelievably slow if you were able to take it for a spin. That said however, it is something a little bit special. I guess you'll have to wait and see what I mean when the game comes out.

3. The Harrier Jet Plane/s, do any of them have VTOL capabilities?

No. the only vertical take off vehicles in the game are helicopters... and in some cases for the brave... gas cannisters. :)

4. Are the Devs going to meet their customers needs by being bothered to make a Patch for Custom Music on the PS3?

There are currently no plans to incorporate this feature into the PS3 version.

5. Will there be silenced weapons?

Again, no. Rico isn't really about sneaking around. Sure, you can stealth your way through military bases if you choose to, but trust me, it's far more fun to make as much noise as you can.

6. The Cargo plane seen in old footage, can you open the hatch on the back?

Negative. Though I do agree this would open it up for some fun opportunities, Rico doesn't need anywhere to put his shopping... even if he is buying heavily armoured vehicles from the black market. He'd much rather hang them underneath with his dual hook.
