Let us gaze upon the awesomeness that is the Stirling STL-3 Octavio, the speedy jet from Just Cause 1 that unfortunately never managed to remain within the game for our enjoyment.

The game guide itself has this to say about the jet:

Top Speed: 300
Handling: 10
Armor: 1000
Frequency: Rare

Stirlings line of quality aircraft begins with the Octavio, a civilian aircraft that earns the highest handling rating for its capable banking and diving maneuverability. Because the aircraft is not meant for military duty, it is not equipped with weapons. Instead, the Octavio, which is rarely seen on the ground, is best used as a speedy commuter jet for getting from one side of San Esperito to the other in record time, or achieving great altitude for breathtaking sky-dives.

I still trouble myself over never having the ability to fly such an amazing looking aircraft. So people, how happy would you be if this was included in Just Cause 2?

already asked for it in a diffrent thread there was little point in starting this thread and yes many people want it included. can't remember if they said they would or not

Theres little point in starting alot of threads on here, but you only complain about the one that you have already tried to talk about before. Interesting. Anyway, I think this is the closest that we've come so far:

Ah the Octavio! :)

I do hope we've not seen the last of that. Rest assured at this point, on vehicles alone - Just Cause 2 gives you plenty to get excited about.

Not exactly confirmation, but possibly a hint that we aren't getting the Octavio, but the rest of the vehicles in the game make up for the lack of it. I'll be sad if we don't get it.

The Octavio has been kept quiet on the forums in my visits - It would make an excellent addition to JC2.

I don't remember seeing this in JC1. Now I have something to do when I get home tonight!!

EDIT: Just did some research and actually read the words that Poor Bison said. I guess I can't miss what I never knew existed...

But put me down for wanting to see this in JC2.

hes like the father or mother (we still dont kno who the girl is) of this post. he tells me when i shouldnt respond to comments and guides me in life lol, hes like a parent and they are buzzkills sometimes but its ok

Nice plane once I found it in JC1. But no, I wouldn't want it in JC2. I want something new and fresh to be the new fast plane in the entire game. :D It was fun, but once I lost control (I got a drink spilled on me, and so... yeah anyway) I didn't like it because when I flew to low, (I also like skimming the ocean and rivers) I would crash. Fun, but gets old fast.Interesting, but unfortunately I heard from someone who had directly contacted Avalanche that the plane had been removed from the game.

This plane is similar, are you getting confused with this?

Because the Octavio is definitely nowhere to be found in Just Cause 1. There is a possibility of traces of its files still left in the PC version of the game, but as there is little support for mods for the PC version then sadly these will never be discovered.

Total facepalm moment right now. LOL Yeah, that's the one. For some reason I was imagining the Octavio, but now that I see that plane. It's definitely the one. :thumb: My mistake, haven't played JC1 in a LONG time. :whistle:

that plane needed a very long runway to take off, I have a bad recollection of many times crashing at the end of the runway

lil wayne used to always walk around with a styrofoam cup so that no one could tell what he was drinking. apparently it is some kind of rappers drink called "sizzurup" or something like that. it's been known to kill people...heavy stuff.

o yea the slang word for it is "sizzurp" and lil wayne is addicted to it. its a mix of grape soda alcohol and codeine( found in prescription drugs, opium, and heroin). the codeine part is what kills people especially when mixed with alcohol.

If the Octavio is in JC2, it should be really hard to find.

On a side note, did you guys ever happen to visit the airport with the "impossible-to-take off" planes?? (There was this one airport with two biplanes facing the edge of a shed so there was no way you could take off.)

I agree there were those ''useless'' airstrips that were only good to get you killed by the ''revenge of the obstructions at the end of the runway''

Well now that we've seen the new mini-doc, I think we may have discovered the jet that is set to replace our beloved Octavio:

Thoughts? I quite like it. Its a shame it doesn't appear to have the colour variation of the Octavio, but somehow it carries over a distinct vibe that it is indeed a replacement for the plane that we never got to fly. From the capsule shaped body, to the upright fins on the wings... and there appear to be no weapons, often a characteristic of a civilian class plane :) And it looks very fast...

Although, it has the futuristic and polished look of an Agency class vehicle. The body is shaped like our old familiar gyrocopter... perhaps this is an agency vehicle, which would of course mean missiles and machine guns cleverly concealed on the body somewhere. Either way, I'm very much looking forward to flying this plane!

Mycoldman, have you flown this particular aircraft? I'm sure you have (;)), can you comment on it at all?

I have a theory that this may actually be a hostage rescue mission aboard an airliner....see the sequence of events....Rico takes off from that octopus shaped airport....gives chase and reaches the plane....gets out of his jet and zips himself to the airliner.......what comes next???? probably goes in, shoots all the hijackers, breaks into the cockpit and pilots the plane to the airport landing it safely....sound cool.

i agree up to the point where rico lands safely. i see him dual hooking all the terrorists out of the plane and then crashing it somehwere to cause a big explosion. but that is a lil too similar yo 9/11 so i dont think it got hijacked at all

It would seem much to similar from the final mission of JC1, flying and grappling to a plane. This is likely part of some fun free roaming gameplay... its a sequence of events that I'll be doing quite regularly :)

Perhaps Rico simply wants to save the plane from the mountain that the pilots are casually flying towards.
