View Full Version : Add on pack

I think that free radical and eidos should start working on a map maker add on pack. It should include more tile sets, more memory and as many other things that they can cram into it. I love the map editor, but i feel that it lacks in several areas, although i can't name any specifically.:D if you agree, please vote 'yes' for an add on pack and hopefully those big wigs down at free radical will give it the go ahead.

Personally? I'd gladly buy a TS2 MapMaker add-on, or even a standalone game optimised purely for multiplayer on MapMaker maps (i.e. SEVERELY optimised).

Yeah I have all the Journeyman games (VERY hard to get here in the UK:mad: ), Journeyman Turbo was the first one I got too, got it 7 years ago couldn't beat it, left it for 5 years, fell off my shelf, "I remember this..." I thorght, played it for a laugh, beat it, got hooked serched Ebay, found the whole trilogy in one set, payed £25, got it a month later, beat all of them, and I'm still hooked, and that was 2 years ago. No. 2s my personal fav. (longest sentence EVER:D)

I'd like to see an expanded mapmaker-add-on, but what about making it the centre of a TS online game, with a map-sharing program and game server built in?
You wouldn't need any new maps from FRD, since the TS2 ones could be adapted for online play, with the story levels available for single players. (A pick of the best homemade TS2 maps could go on there too!)
The online element would make the package more attractive to gamesbuyers (lets not forget this is a money-game too) and get big support from Sony, MS and Nintendo for their online networks.
Seems like expanded building options, mapsharing and online play are what people want most - this would give you the lot in one package.

 Agreed! This is what I want to see in the next TS game:
#1) Expanded multiplayer - new arenas, ability to combine modes (i.e. monkey assist + capture the bag etc, shrink + gladiator ...)
#2) Lots of arcade league/challenges (with many unlockable characters).
#3) Expanded mapmaker - allow linked maps to form a true story, support online map exchange. FR should also provide some very good examples of mapmaker maps that play like a single player story mode.
#4) More assault missions. Add ability to make assault missions to mapmaker.
#5) Enable online play (between different consoles?)
Sharing maps online could be a huge thing (maybe even bigger than online play) ... and it provides free and unlimited replay value. In that case, no separate story mode would be required for TS3. Anyway, other FPS games cover that ground. FR should concentrate on what makes TS different and unique: MULTIPLAYER, ARCADE/CHALLENGE, MAPMAKER, and ASSAULT. Online play would also be great.

Well, this is my second post!
I too, would like to have more freedom in map-making.
From what I've heard, you can only have 2 teams, no team deathmatch starts and there isn't a knockout or escort mode  I have the game but since my PS2 is in the shop, well, I'm bored to death.

I dont see how this "add on" would work.. unless it was like a different cd and all, it would be a hassle.. because i have a gamecube and it would just be difficult..

I don't see how it would be difficult, resident evil has two disks and that works just fine. Realy it would be more dificult on othe consoles because they have motorised(?) disk trays and it takes a long time to eject.

I would love to see an addition to the mapmaker.
I bought the Xbox version expecting a hell of a lot more room than if I bought the Gamecube version, but from everything I've read it's exactly the same.

Free radical would be crazy not to release the add on disk- and If they dont then I'll personally lock them in a one block mapmaker level with corruptions and logic errors!

Having an additional thingy for MapMaker will require this-and-that for your system, or something like that
I don't think it's nessecery.

Unless they have TS3 coming in the near future, they should hold a worldwide mapmaker competition and include the best entries along with an updated mapmaker on a $20 disc. How expensive could that possibly be?

well I guess I am no fun and I think a map maker add on is a dumb idea cause I'm no fun and no one likes me then because I think what Free radical gave us is a blessing. Shure, I would like it to be better, but I'm not going to give them crap for it and dmand more.
