Games these days get all sorts of controversies ... and some for the Wrong Reasons ...

Think of Mass Effect , and , hell , think of Dead Men's controversy ...
Was it for the sheer brutality and violence in the game ? ...
Not really , it was for something that has to do with a 'number' ...

Now think of this ...
What if Dog Days' story is even more violent and depressing than Dead Men ? ...
IO will need something to cover it up ... a diversion ...

Enters the Naked Men , with a Dog ...

GENIUS ...

While the media will be making lots of noises on that , IO can keep the violent content without anybody paying attention on that ...

Well contriversies have been running around too frequently in video gaming.
Remember Resident Evil 5? Lots of people rushed to a conclusion about Racism, but when you're playing, you won't mind. Coz that's not the point.

As for Nudity, true, not much has been going round unless it's for erotic gaming. Still.. as I said in the other thread - The more frontiers they open in gaming, the better.

Well look at Dead Men , who will remember it for its artistic values ? it didn't get the merit it deserved , and if every critic in the world start praising Dog Days for no reason other than the fact that it's 'trendy' to scream ART at every video game , then i'll be holding a facepalm position for a full week ...

Dead Men already did opened a lot of 'frontiers' in gaming but no one listened , i don't understand why now everybody will be praising the sequel , bunch of hypocrites ...

True, kane and lynch hasn't been accepted for it's artistic value. But have to agree with you, the praising of the sequel seems abit off for people who didn't like the first. I guess they were nagging for the computer mechanics, idiot AI and too much swearing... But then again.. i doubt criminals will talk posh.

Nah the problem isn't so much Kane & Lynch's swearing, it's that it's really awkward at times... and sort of in the way that a foreigner would swear. A lot of the usage is a bit off, especially with calling people "****s" and "You wanna drive you ******* ****." and "Why can't you just die you selfish little ****", "You finally kill that **** of a little brother?"

Someone needs to tell IOInteractive that americans don't often call eachother "****s" ... we'll call eachother "bicthes", "bastads", or "a-holes" but not really "****s" - that's a pretty universal european thing (calling people ****s)

either way, I don't want them to tone down the swearing or adult content at all... I just want them to do it in a believable way. Or at least try to. Have a native speaking american read the script over and it'll take him 2 seconds to point out what sounds wrong and what doesn't.

Honestly I doubt they had much creative input on the matter. I think they threw a set of lines in front of Brian Bloom and said "Start crackin'" and he recited what he was paid to do.

Brian Bloom (who was in Smokin' Aces and even in the HBO series OZ) isn't that big of an actor, so I'm sure he needed the money. I doubt he'd make waves and risk them going with someone else.

Once Kane & Lynch 2's advertising campaign goes into full swing I think we'll see a lot more Kane & Lynch fans come out of the woodwork. Until then it's just us, and that's fine with me.

and yeah, The7 is pretty much decimated. Unless they start hiring some new mercs, I doubt they even have 3 guys to run the show.

I said it three months ago and i'll say it again ...
I'll take a small community made of sixteen (or less) real dedicated fans of a game over a community made of six hundred hypocritical people (those who while screaming that they love said game , they never stay more than a month with the community) any day ...

But sooner or later that's what's going to happen , and we'll have no choice but to deal with it ...
So ironically , while the four months i spent here were fairly ... quiet ...
Those months are probably going to be my best times on this forum ...
