Hello everyone,

After quite some time, mainly with the motivation of this website, I decided to give another go at the series, this time swearing to complete it in expert level and as much as ghosting possible. Well, ghosting is extremely exciting, however I have so few time to play the game that it was extremely slow... So I just go expert...

Anyway, I have recently bought a widescreen HD monitor, a new ATI 4890 factory overclocked graphics card... and I am playing Thief with this. And I am enjoying it so much that I feel young again. I haven't felt "that" good for playing a computer game for so much time. Graphics mean nothing, really!

I am currently in the song of the caverns, just cleared the lower level of the opera house. The best part was the 4 in a row actor blackjacking. They all turned towards same direction in a large room, mumbling their texts... And I jumped off from the shadows... Only the last one said "Is that someone there?" the other did not even notice me...

So why I am posting this? I would like to read great, funny, heroic, foolish experiences of you taffers too. All your worth-to mention successes and fails and tactics. (I once believed I was a genious for combining a mine and a noisemaker. Because the mine had slid to a place I didn't intend to, and to pull the crayman towards it I fired a noisemaker over it. Then I noticed this was a good tactic.. Then I read this was a "common" tactic, darn..) A taffer experience database, so that we all can take lessons from them, and developers can read what we enjoy the most.

So give it, ladies and gentlemen!

In DS when you rob the museum there are three guards in front of the building, two stationary and one patrolling.
What I did was throw down a mine in the patrolling guards path, then some oil and then a mine again. The patrol walked into the mine and went BOOM!, then the other two came to investigate, slipped and slided into the second mine. And with some luck I was rid of them all =)
Oh and once I BJ'd or gassed everyone in the first half of the museum and threw them all in one big unconscious dog pile. After that I threw some other things like mines and fire arrows in there as well ^^

Question: How many people can you fit in the power room or whatever it's called where you turn off the power in the museum?
I managed five :) Can someone do better? :p

I used to arrange people on beds in as compromising a position as I could and then imagine the red faces when they awoke

... it's the little things that amuse me

and have you seen this thread What is your all time favorite moment in Thief? (http://forums.eidosgames.com/showthread.php?t=89288)

Countless situations, countless. Hardly remember them, but I know they were there.

One that I can think of, in Ramirez' manor (T1) there was this drunk guard standing in front of the door I had to pass, I drew the sword and approached him ready to do what's necessary, he only said "who are you" and once I moved to the side, out of his view, he was so drunk that he just ignored me, I moved through the door and put the sword back into the sheath. I was kinda fully immersed at that moment.
