What gadgets would you want to see in a possible sequel? I was thinking about this:
Tranquilizer Gun: Something you could use in Invisible Predator situations that would allow you to perform instant silent takedowns.
Bat-Heater: Could be used in the same way you used explosive gel, only you could use it to cut through walls of Mr. Freeze's ice.
Stick Bomb Gun Thingy: It's used in The Dark Knight when he breaks in to capture Lao in Hong Kong and again when busts the support beams in the final scene with the Joker. They could even be set to go off on a timer before you shoot. This however, is a lot like the explosive gel, so I guess it would replace it, unless there is some other reason you could see to use it.
I have a few more ideas but I'll leave the rest up to you guys.

Yeah, for a game largely based on stealth, there sure wasn't whole lot of stealth gadgets to choose from, was there?
I've always been a cheerleader for the smoke bomb.
Flashbangs are good.
Bolas make sense.
Maybe a laser mic would be cool for recon. I think the Splinter Cell games used one and that was pretty cool back then.
A forensic kit would also be pretty interesting.
Night Vision would make some sense, I feel. Hell, throw in infrared vision while we're at it.
Caltrops could be thrown on the ground to trip up patrolling thugs.
I'm sure there are more ideas out there..

I think smoke bombs are probably the most obvious choice. It's been a common item in most Batman games and would've been useful for dealing with armed guards in AA.
If you're spotted by them, it can quickly lead to certain death. It just doesn't seem likely that Batman wouldn't be prepared for such a scenario. The smoke bomb could momentarily stun the guards, allowing the player a better chance to grapple away or take out the nearest gun.
A Tranq Gun would be a nice way to take out guards from a distance. However, it would be too easy for players to abuse it, which means they would probably have to limit the ammo. And one thing I really liked about AA is that none of your gadgets required you to go around collecting ammo or powerups, so I hope they retain that aspect in the sequel.

i dont think the stick bomb gun thingy would replace the explosive gel, it just might be an upgrade. because you cant use gel from a distance

Perhaps the Sticky-Bomb Gun could be used to breach in through the walls of buildings ?
Hell, how about using it for a glass takedown ? Wait for an enemy to walk past the glass and BOOM, there out the picture.

Scientifically speaking, the way the sticky bomb gun was presented in the film made more sense than the explosive gel -- at least you could actually see a detonator in the sticky bomb! :rolleyes:

The gel itself is a diluted liquid C4-esque substance.
Throughout the gel are microscopic metal fibers, connected to a tiny generator.
When a button is pressed on the spray-gun, the generator emits an electrostatic shock that travels through the fibers, detonating the gel.
Or something.

I'd like to see not only new gadgets, but upgradable gadgets as well, giving a wider variety:
Grapple Gun -> Range + Speed Upgrades
Batarang -> Double Batarang -> Tripple Batarang
Noise Makers -> Sonic Batarang -> Exploding Sonic Batarang
Flash Bomb -> Smoke Bomb
Batrope -> Bat-Claw -> Ultra Batclaw
Time-bomb -> Explosive Gel -> Proximity Explosive Gel -> Selective Detonation Explosive Gel -> Long Range Explosive Gel
Acid Capsule -> Acid Gel -> Promixty Acid Gel -> Selective Activation Acid Gel -> Long Range Acid Gel
Remote Control Batarang -> Battery Power Upgrade
Bola -> Paralyzer Dart ->
Zip-line -> 10 degree incline -> 20 degree incline (use it to move up or down slightly)
Lock-picks -> Cryptographic Sequencer
Mini-Batarangs -> Double Mini-Batarangs -> Triple Mini-Batarangs - Quadruple Mini-Batarangs

A shoot-anywhere grapple gun. For example:
RB/R1 = shoot line / disconnect line
RT/R2 = grapple up
LT/L2 = grapple down
This allows you not only to grapple anywhere, but to climb at your own pace, and slowly abseil down (from a high ledge to a precise spot, etc)

I'm definitely in agreement that there should be smoke bombs in limited quantity. Something for those times you make a mistake and get caught out in the open. Drop one, Batman grapples up onto the nearest gargoyle without any thugs spotting him. A good quick escape method. Also, bolas are cool and an awesome idea. Just the visual is enough for me to want them in game. It'd be awesome to wrap someone up near an edge and watch them fall over and drop down. Heh.
And a bola is more or less a rope with weights on the ends.

Ice-Pellets: Freezes half the enemies' body. Can be use in Invisible Predator Mode and Challenge Rooms. Also a good item for a Clayface battle.
Bat-Caller: Similar to the sonic device in Batman Begins. Batman throws a sonic device toward a thug and a swarm of bats attack him. The bats don't do any damage but distracts the thug, allowing you for a silent take down. Good gadget for a boss battle.
Mini-Laser: A pen-like design that shoots out a laser to cut ropes or chains. Use to get to other locked areas.

I second the 'Bat Caller'.
Also, the Bat CreditCard(expiration date: Forever), never leave the cave without it :p
