A British actor listing voice and mo-cap work for Hitman 5 through U.K. dev Rocksteady sent around the buzz that series developer IO Interactive might be off the case. Not so, says Eidos chief Ian Livingstone.

Prey's World Gaming Magazine spoke to Livingstone at the Edinburgh Interactive Festival, and he shot down the rumor.

This is the first I've heard about it. Hitman always has been and always will be IO Interactive's baby, which it still continues to be so. Rocksteady are not involved with the development of Hitman 5.

Sounds pretty definitive. Speculation had it that the actor was simply working through Rocksteady's studio,located in London, rather than go all the way to IO Interactive in Denmark. Disappointing. I just got Blood Money recently, and it's an enjoyable little game. On the hardest difficulty, I'm having a pretty tough time on some of these missions, which is rare in games these days.

Ah well, who cares. Like Eidos's prez said, its IO's baby. Still can't wait for the 5th game anyway :D

They probably did some mocap and stuff at their studio, just for the game, I think Rocksteady is owned by Eidos.. sort of.

I also think it's one of the only mocap studios in the UK.

i'd rather have IO interactive make Hitman 5 than Rocksteady. i mean, it's IO's signature game. wooot! :D
