Well, how often he deals with it I'm not sure but magic is a fact of life in the DC Universe. It's a tangible force that can hurt even Superman. Zatanna is well known as a magician, as is Dr. Fate. Villain-wise, you might consider Ra's Al Ghul to be supernatural due to his longevity. Outside of main continuity he's encountered Spawn and the Violator, who are both denizens of Hell and in a series of Graphic Novels he battled Dracula and his ilk <becoming a vampire himself in the process> These are obviously not canon but it does show that side exists from time to time for Bats. It's never been an overwhelming theme in his primary titles, but he does encounter magical beings/creatures from time to time and seems to take it in stride.
Edit: I forgot about Wonder Woman.Might not encounter her often, but they were major parts of the Trinity story. Being an immortal Amazon princess molded from clay by her mother and imbued with a parts of her soul from 6 different Greek gods? You don't get much more supernatural than that. :)

I mean, it does seem clear that Dr. Hurt in Batman RIP is THE Devil. If you follow the Morrison stuff, a lot of what Batman deems "supernatural" gets filed into his "black casebook". So, it happens a fair amount, but it far from the norm.

Interesting stuff here, thanks guys. I always assumed Batman only dealt with the mob element. Which is part of the reason now that I'm older I'm a lot more interested in him. I've always been a Spidey guy. But I love the Batman Animated series and the crime drama. I want to get into the comics but don't really care for the super natural stuff. So now Batman has met the devil? Is that kid Damien the devil's son?

He researches it and plans for it like anything else. He believes everything has a weakness and seeks to find it. Watch The Batman vs. Dracula. Great film and really shows off even a young Bruce Wayne's detective skills. The Batman animated series takes place roughly three years into Bruce becoming Batman and his face off with Dracula shows his growing skill.

Batman deals with them because he's Batman. I wouldn't be surprised if he had plans to take out various religious deities in case they crossed his path.

Well you can read Batman R.I.P as you want. You can read Dr. Hurt as a cruel human being or as Satan or someone possessed as Satan. Thats the great thing about Morrison's writing that you can read it in many different ways. =p Tho he did admit in Wizard magazine that Hurt is either the Satan himself or just possessed by him.

It would if it were canon. The Mask is connected to Loki.
As for the main question, writers make use of supernatural stuff now and then. I'd say his main titles cover the more grounded, street level stuff, though his interaction with other teams and side releases have him encountering things like ghosts and other supernatural creatures.
They even had a recent mini called Superman/Batman vs. Werewolves/Vampires(I swear to God that was the real title).

Batman deals with it a lot, but maintains skepticism. In one of the more recent storylines from Superman/Batman, Bruce doesn't believe in magic, he just thinks magical stuff is something that "needs more research and study". Which is a bit crazy, all things in the DC universe considered.

It is such a Batman thing to say.
