Which ending in dx1 did you take

EDIT: Answering to your question: I don't remember couse I saved before the last confrontation in order to see all the possible endings. So I saw them all in less than an hour IIRC.

I chose the Helios ending, and it's still my favorite.

IMO JC's merge with Helios should have been considered canon in IW, instead of the abysmal "combined endings" idea.

Nope. It simply involves either a cheat from the console, or swapping a filecouple of file names in the Deus Ex/Maps folder.

Make a save right before whichever ending you normally use. Go to the Deus Ex/maps folder, and toward the bottom, there will be four files called 99_Endgame* (where * = 1, 2, 3, or 4). I'm not sure which endgame file is which - I think 1 is the Helios merge - but number 4 is the dance club/party ending. Just rename it to whichever ending you are about to do in-game, and rename THAT ending to something else.

Load your save and continue, and you have the dance party ending. Afterwards, just change the file names back to what they were originally, and all's back to normal.

Surprised so many voted the Illuminati-ending. I always go for the Dark Age/Reboot Society-ending. If you can read this, you've probably been punked!

I've done all of them, but in my first run I went with Helios merge.

I originally chose the Tong ending (when I was about 15) because I didn't trust anyone else, and I felt Tong and Savage were the only ones with the world's best interests in mind. About 2 years later I decided Everett's was better because it returned things to status quo. Tong's plan would just create a loop. Eventually, the Illuminati would reestablish communications and then reemerge with a significant advantage. Why not just start planning a better world now with Everett? If his thirst for wisdom/knowledge is matched by his thirst for power, he could recreate the Illuminati and create a world beyond anyone's dreams. Now (I'm 19) I think Helios' ending may be the best. I tended to avoid it since it's a big unknown, and I don't like the idea of merging my brain with an AI(in real life anyway). But Helios' comments about human history being "...a succession of inane squabbles, each one coming closer to total destruction." made me think. This AI had Daedalus inside it, and Everett said, "There's a blip of Daedalus' code running on every communications device on the planet.". This AI had access to every bit of knowledge known to man, including all the classified knowledge of the most brilliant people on the planet (X-51 scientists). Morpheus was way smarter than at least 90% of humanity, and it's just a prototype. Helios could stop the world from spiraling out of control; and then create golden age of scientific, philosophical, mathematical, etc, advancement. The only really big problem would be if Helios was the result of Icarus dominating Daedalus, and all the benevolent AI stuff was just to convince JC to merge. Then the world would be screwed. If I had to chose now, I'd probably go with Everett.

I didn't like Helios because it seems more like Icarus than Daedalus; Icarus scared the hell out of me first time I played. While talking to Helios, well, I felt like it was giving me non-answers, I just couldn't trust it. :/
I didn't like Everette because all he seemed to care about was his own gain and putting the Illuminati back into power. Let's not forget Bob Page was the Illuminati's doing.
