In a small urge of creative thought I have just realized that there is indeed a situation where Deus Ex 3 could be as good as Deus Ex, maybe even better if we're lucky.
Just so you know I am vary big Deus Ex Fanatic.
Since Deus Ex is a game that allows us to change the timeline of the game world, I.e. Paul Denton's death. It is theoretically possible that a Deus Ex prequel could explore the ideas of changing the games timeline that fundamentally change Deus Ex. What this would allow Eidos Montreal to do is produce future sequels of Deus Ex games that take place at the same time as Deus Ex but are not "Deus Ex". This would open the door to co-authorship between player and developer, an idea that is Warren Specter's fundamental implementation to Deus Ex that makes Deus Ex the best game ever!!! :thumb:
I think the big problem between fans of Deus Ex and Eidos Montreal is that fans feel that their not getting there say in there contributions to Deus Ex.
And when you ask "what contributions" you are forgetting that Deus Ex is a game that literary 'Forces' the player to contribute to the game's story if played.
To the developers this means that Deus Ex fans are vary harsh critics and also feel that they are/could be game designers themselves. Deus Ex 'forces' you to be a game designer to play it so it is a logical conclusion. Really ask anyone here if they would be willing to wright a story to Deus Ex's "script" and I'm sure you'll find a Heep of writers willing to do it. Unknown if they can do it, but they think they can do it and that's what is important to remember. Every "hardcore" Deus Ex fan wants to make the next Deus Ex game, but can't.
Some... like myself... actually pro sue a carrier in the industry... not that I'm good at it seeing as I can't spell, pursue.
As a fan I for one would be vary happy to give credit to Eidos Montreals work if it's treated more like a fan made mod rather then the new chronicle game in Deus Ex timeline.
It allows the possibility that someday a fan like myself can make my version of Deus Ex form the standpoint of a developer. I have already made 26 different Deus Ex timelines from the players standpoint, and the idea of making 1 different Deus Ex time line form the developers standpoint is extremely desirable at this point.
So Eidos please allow fans to pretend they may be a able to do that by not trying to take more credit then you need from Deus Ex. It's why Invisible war sucked.
