GameStop announced it has worked out a special deal with Eidos and Warner Bros. to offer an exclusive downloadable Challenge Map for customers who pre-order Batman: Arkham Asylum. The map is entitled “Dem Bones” and will pit the caped crusader against Scarecrow’s army of skeletons. The map is purportedly one of the most difficult maps the game will offer, but we can’t see how that’s possible – what’s so hard about fighting a bunch of skeletons? They don’t even have joints to keep their stupid bones from falling apart! Beat those skeletons apart, Batman!

Their has been nothing "confirmed" about Scarecrow except, their has been major evidence. So im saying its a "official" reveal. which is more probable than anything else.

They didin't even recieve a demo, you might have been bumbed about, but not even then were you complaining so much as you are here just for the anouncement of the demo. Rocksteady and Eidos have been doing a tremendously amazing effort to keep the consumers satisifed with plenty of information, screenshots, and videos of this game and now unfortunatly everybody here is geting really greedy.... You'll get the demo the same time you would have even if it was announced in the beggining of the month, just the announcement was moved closer to the actual release date of the demo, and IMO Eidos and Rcoksteady took out several painful weeks of people complaining the demo is so far away. Not necessarily, akaWarMachine. Assembling a satisfactory trailer takes time, and they need the approval of Eidos before releasing it to the community. Do you understand the reasons behind the delay, or are you making an assumption about the specific reasons?

Walls, I was just thinking that if they had intended to release the game early Summer, but it got delayed, why are they having problems with promotional trailers. It's timing. The game is now only a month away. Scarecrow now has been officially revealed. We may have been 99% sure before, but now it's official. There's new announcments coming this weekend, now that Scarecrow has been revealed, we may just see more of it. This could be just the tip of the iceberg.

Because every time we did, the thread we posted in was deleted.

Eidos/Rocksteady wanted to keep it a secret but GameStop leaked the information by posting the back of the box image. We were not supposed to find out about Scarecrow until today.

The source Scarecrow came from wasn't unofficial. It was (and still is) 100% official, just was not supposed to be shown so early.

I don't know why so many are disappointed. After all, this was a "GAMESTOP" announcement, not one from our beloved folks here at RockSteady/Eidos. So, logic says when you're looking at a "GAMESTOP" web page that "GAMESTOP" is not going to be the ones announcing a Demo of the game. Sure, some may say, they could have announced a Code for a Demo, but again, a Demo announcement would logically be handled by the makers of the actual game, not some retailer, as large as they are.

Well, the way GameStop usually works is that when you do a Pre-Order, they hand you a Card that contains the Code for a Demo to be downloaded immediately or on the date given on the Card. Since GameStop has no idea when the Demo is coming out, if a Demo was released as part of some Exclusive GameStop/Eidos deal, you would have to go to the store to get that Code to downloaded on XBL or PSN. But that's all mute, because as my earlier post said, "GAMESTOP" is not going to be the ones announcing a Demo of this game.

No, the green gas was supposed to represent the Scarecrow. As Keir has confirmed, there will be no exclusive content for the DLC. The Scarecrow will be an exclusive Challenge Map for customers that pre-order at GameStop. Nothing more, nothing less. What you fail to acknowledge is that we create our own hype. It's best to wait without any unreasonable expectations.

As Drazar said, that's certainly not a valid example. In Arkham Asylum's case, one company paid for the exclusive rights to the content, and Microsoft has not expressed any interest. In Soul Calibur 4, both companies were able to pay for different content, and the wording of each agreement was far looser. Eidos's agreement with Sony bars this possibility, Hinatachan.

According to his Dr. Young bio (which is located on my thread), Jonathon Crane is also over six feet tall in-game, so I don't exactly know why you're under the impression that he looks childish. He seems to have invented a rather ingenious way to launch toxin-filled needles from his stitched gloves.

If you pre-order the game from Game in the UK you get the Dem Bones map. No, Game is UK only. But Gamestop is available in other countries other thank the UK.

Well prepared to be super pissed because if they do put it out to the public to donwload, that's how it will be priced. It's like with any game with DLC - it's very rare the DLC is free. The only examples of free DLC I can think of is the couple of free LittleBIGPlanet costumes that are available every week.

Of course. There's no alternative for a mature discussion that remains respectful. Unfortunately, some of us seem to focus on fighting over whether or not these exclusives will ultimately become DLC, but those discussions rarely yield any positive results for both ends. By maturely discussing Arkham Asylum's future with someone, I've discovered that you earn their respect and some new information.

There's actually a very high chance that the CE map and the preorder map will both be downloadable in the months after the game. I wouldn't be surprised if you saw it as early as December 2009.

The only time I've seen an exclusive not be DLC later on...well I can't think of it. Even Wolverine's exclusive was DLC later...but it was $20 on PSN...

The issue here is, what would it cost? $5? $10? Would it be worth waiting to pay $20 per map (effectively paying $80 + tax) or pay that extra $40 for the CE to get both maps and a few other things that definitely won't be downloadable (unless we can find out how to stuff a batarang onto PSN / XBL).

HOLY CRAP! Complete reinvention of the Scarecrow's look. I am VERY happy with this. I would love it if Nolan and crew take a nod to this design. Loving the syringes for fingers... makes much more sense -- and he's kinda got a Freddy Kruger thing going there. I dig, dig, dig, dig, DIG this design. Way to go Rocksteady!!!

i like my scarecrow, scarecrow, the one from the comics. it looks cool, but i really wanted the guys to be less reimagined and more exaclty what i grew up with.

i wish they good give us new skins for badguys as dlc or unlockables, then i could make scarecrow look like, ya know, the way he does in the comics.

Verbally abusing you? Why do newcomers continually say that, as if there's constant chaos and verbal abuse in this thread? Honestly, let's try to be a little reasonable. By the way, Wildstorm is largely responsible for the character designs. Rocksteady only realizes them by taking the concept and using the engine to create the character on-screen.

As far as your issues about the design are concerned, I strongly disagree. There is no static, unchanging design for the Scarecrow that must be adopted in every version of the character. We've seen so many differing interpretations of each individual member of the rogue's gallery, and the Scarecrow is no exception. Besides, which comic are we discussing? As I've said before, there are several comic series in which the Scarecrow looks radically different from the last.

Not really. I'd rather have something else entirely. Honestly, the trenchcoat look is a bit...stale.

When you look at it closely and at most of the other villains you see that there costume is the Asylum uninforms, Bane, Croc and Zsasz are all wearing orange pants, and when you look at Scarecrow you see that it looks like he's ripped up his uniform to make a costume for him self in the Asylum, cause in the Doctor's journal he looks different and I does look like he's wearing a coat so he and the rest of the Villain's probably have differnet costumes outside the asylum, I hope we get to see them in some form or another (other that the Doctor's journal)....... cough..... cough... dlc.....cough...:D

To over come the Fear toxin effects you have to plug the controller in to the 2nd controller port, lolz :D

I read somewhere that this is one of the most difficult challenge rooms in the game. Don't underestimate teh bones!
