Why's that impossible? Actors can be cast for more than one movie... and neither DC or Marvel own the guy.

Thing is Heath Ledger and Mickey Rourke have atleast been reported on doing research for the role. We know Ryan Reynolds is a big Deadpool fan and if he really had to do that ****ty X-men movie in order to make a good Deadpool movie (he will break the 4th wall in it) then i can see it as redeemeble, but right now hes like Nicholas Cage who can sign a comic book role and do a horrible justification for it while he claims to be a fan. -___- If someone was a fan wouldnt they wanna make a good justification out of the character? -_- Ofcourse if he does show doing research for the thing then i can be more certain about it.

If you're talking about Wolverine, the actor only has so much control of the direction of the character.Just because the writers screwed up Deadpool doesn't mean Reynolds did.

But thats the thing. If you are a fan of the character. Why sign a role where the character is a total abomination? Again i'll be more fine with this if he actually had to "make a necessary sacrifise" in order to provide us a kick-ass awesome Deadpool movie then im happy. =p He will have the mask in his own movie, and he will break the 4th wall.

Val Kilmer was an idiot who didn't read the script or see the who was directing it. I wouldn't call it necessarily defending but the guy was more interested in playing a grim dark Batman. Can't say i would defend a moron who doesn't read what hes signing into. =p

You have a point, but... oh your f-ing kidding me, if BBC News says its happening...its happening. Ladies and Gentlemen, on the good side: We have a Green Lantern Movie, on the bad side: Ryan Reynolds is playing Hal Jordan.
But of course we'll have to see how it goes along, and at least kids will know about Green Lantern (honestly, since JL and JLU got cancelled, all the kids have forgotten about everyone except Superman and Batman)

I really don't see why everyone's so upset over Reynolds being Hal Jordan. He's an actor. Actors protray different characters all the time. You can't say "Oh he just played someone light-hearted and funny, now he is forever doomed to play this character until the end of time."
From gay cowboy to the twisted villain we all know and love. Have some faith people.

Didnt you guys see the three choices? None of them looked like Hal. Timberlake are you serious? Ryan Reynolds barely played Deadpool yet Marvel is suppose to make a spinoff? **** that. **** Marvel movies that involve Mutants. I guess it could be worse, they could have picked Timberlake or that other guy.
For the record, I was NOT skeptical of Heath as the Joker. As soon as they announced it was him, I was very surprised by but I knew he could handle the part.

Yeah I dont mind Reynolds as an actor nor him playing Deadpool. Its just Im not trying to see another crapfest like Wolverine and Xmen. Marvel just doesnt know how to handle the mutants of their universe for some reason. I really am sick of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, yet he LOOKS exactly like him.
Im just not getting my expectations too high for it. Ya know? Now with this Green Lantern, I can see him being Hal, but I would like to read the script. He can be awesome as Hal, if its written well. Imagine Reynolds with Sinestro.
Ive seen Bradley Cooper in a couple movies, and he may have been a sleeper as far as an actor, but Reynolds has the big name behind him.

Nah Marvel is not here to really blame. During 90s Marvel was nearly bankrupt so they sold the rights to Fox for X-men characters because of the nostalgia/praise Fox received from the X-men cartoon. Sure they are regretting it now and Fox will keep making ****ty x-men movies in order to keep the rights for the characters. Yeah Ryan Reynolds can do well acting, so lets hope Warner Bros is treating green lantern like Batman. make people read the comics and so on. I also want Dr. House to be Sinestro! :P

The line between DCAU Flash, Deadpool, and New Frontier GL is kind of shady. It depends on which portrayal of GL they use. The one from the new Frontier was kind of a mix of cocky and boyscout. More in line with Flash (JLU) or Deadpool's persona.
Let's just hope they don't portray him as some of the early comics did. For a long time he was basically the X-Men TAS version of Cyclops with a power ring. Very straight laced and always barking orders. And for some reason he became very much drill instructor with some writers once they expanded the GLC.

From what you have been saying, me and you agree on it. Ive said it in other threads. ASM has there best writer and yet fans hate the idea of BND/OND and a majority of the stories. Aside from New Ways to Die and from what you have said the recent arc. The state of Spiderman and its probably the best book they are putting out. Doesnt that say enough? Dark Reign? O bring back Steve Rogers to save the day? JMS on Thor, no thanks. Loeb? Not even gonna start. Xmen? Who cares anymore?
The one saving grace I can give on Marvel is Brubaker, JRJR, and Greg Pak coming back to Hulk after Loeb finishes taking his dump. WWH/ Planet Hulk was amazing, and hopefully he can kick ass with Planet Skaar.

I loved House for the first three seasons because of Hugh Laurie and his character.
Nah, we do agree on a lot of things, but to say that the fans hate most stories is a bit too much. As far as I am concerned, OMD is the only real blight on the franchise (People didn't like the Clone Saga much either but oh well ... ) Fans will stick to it because despite OMD being Quesada's doing, they realize that very thing. HE did it, and there is nothing we can do now. All I can say is that they will probably retcon it anyways, and we'll put it behind us.
It's just a sad fact because every comic does it. Every series does something idiotic like that. They usually cancel things and just reboot. I don't want that actually, because though the line is blurred, everything that has happened in Peter's life is still significant after almost 40 years.
Like I said though, we do agree on a lot, especially Loeb (urghh ...) and you seem like a cool guy. I just don't see myself or anyone quitting on so many years of Amazing because of some foolish arcs and bad decisions made by some mid-life crisis editor who should stick to drawing. Also, something to think about: It's easier to criticize Spidey things because it comes out three times a month which equals less time to plan and more arcs to analyze.
Despite that they have done a bang up job since OMD and any fan that doesn't agree is still butt-hurt about the arc :mad2:
