In the case that a second game is made (which I think is going to happen), and you get to free roam Gotham City as the Caped Crusader, what vehicle to you most want to control?

The Batmobile, Batwing, and Batboat.

I think the batmobile is obvious for the most part. I mean gotham is a huge dynamic city. Although I think it would be cool to bring in the batwing for star foxish shooter levels, and to get around to rooftops.

Batmobile, Batwing, Batcycle, Batboat

Ye i wanted this option too. Infact i guess im againts a Gotham City free roam game. I would just find it too diffucult to make since with Batmobile youd have to avoid hitting civillians so i guess my option would necessarily just be the Batwing if they make a free-roam city.

No vehicles:confused: Really? Swinging around the whole time? Sometimes Batman needs to get somewhere fast and the grapple isn't good enough. The only other non-vehicle way I can think of is jumping on the Flash's back and having him run you everywhere...

"Batman to all points, I could use a lift... Seeing as I can't drive, At all. Flash get over here." :rasp:

He didin't posses a batmobile early on in his career, so you coulf have Alfred drop you off and then change, I dunno...

I don't like the idea of having vehicles either.

HaHa, at Alfred dropping you off. The thing is that it usually seems you can only have good third-person controls or good vehicle mechanics. Never both.

Man, do we really have to choose just ONE!!? Hell, I'll add a DKR- esque Battank to the list.

As far as civilians are concerned, there are at least 2 possible solutions:
1. The setting: Make the game revolve around a No Man's Land type setting, where martial law is declared, and virtually everyone is a criminal.
2: Make the civilians run/jump out of the way unscathed like in the Midnight Club games.

Don't forget Batman's primary means of cityscape transportation his grappling hook. Besides that I would like to have the Batmobile (with ejecting Batpod of course).

Heck Yeah!! Don't forget the rubber bullets.

I'll have to disagree on this point. I do not like the Battank.

Although having civillians dive out of the way would be the most convienent method, what about traffic?

That's a good idea, it worked fine in Midnight Club, don't see why it couldn't work driving the Batmobile.

That would be just plain awesome. But I could only see this as a cut scene before you drive the other vehicle.

I also wonder if there was an eject pod-vehicle for the Batwing what it would be...

Batwing -- But only if at least for the PS3 version, Rocksteady works with the Sony in-house teams responsible for flower and warkawk. They know how to do Sixxaxis brilliantly. I've played Flower and Warhawk and these guys and girl know sixxaxis. The Flower controls are so delicate yet responsive and Warhawk makes you feel like you're piloting a superjet.

Good point about traffic...and I'd imagine driving around in high speeds in the Batmobile, you WILL crash into other vehicles. Maybe there can be a hidden challenge to avoid as many crashes as possible, provided the driving mechanics are as well developed as possible.

TBH I dont think free roam would work with the gameplay style BUT they could have chase levels where you control a vehicle I would like the bat plane if thats what it called XD to appear.

It can work, but the real question is HOW to make it work, how to seamlessly intergrate driving mechanics into this game, and how to make such mechanics work as well as the other components of the game.

How could anyone not want the "Battank"

this and the tumbler are the best incarnations of the 'Batmobile to me.

It's not that I have a problem, but I like classic Batmobile so much better.

The Batplane always seemed more of his "Justice League Batman" gadget arsenal to me.

Yeah I understand most people feel that way, I'm the opposite I don't like gawdy batwings on everything.

How would the Batboat help you get around a city ?

How would the Batboat help you get around a city ?

Batman would flood the city and then he could get around real fast in his bat boat, and that would also fix the problem of hitting civilians bc they would all be taking refuge on the rooftops. Problems solved :)

Gotham is surrounded by water. All he would have to do is melt a giant glacier off the coast using a giant "Bat Laser" the excess water would cause the flood. The logic is flawless.

The whole game is just filled with a Global Warming sub-message. Its like, stop it now, or the world will flood and supervillians will take over, at that point id ally myself with Mr. Freeze, just so i can atleast get around.

If I'm not mistaken, Gotham City itself is a costal city made up of a series of islands. Having a "Batboat" shouldn't be problematic.

And if it's not asking too much, how about BOTH a classic/modern style Batmobile and the Tumbler style Batmobile. One focuses on speed and maneuverability and the other focuses on power and arsenal.

Well the Tumbler is pretty much a cross between a Lamborghini and a Hummer so its really got the best balance of both. The Arkham Asylum Batmobile looks more like a beefed up version of the Animated Series car. It'd be a cool feature if you earned upgrades for it throughout the game. I want hood machine guns:D!

Oh yeah, you're definitely right about the Tumbler. I guess I want a more Hummer-oriented Batmobile. Nothing completely tank-like, it needs some type of speed, but it needs to be arsenal oriented.
