Hai!

In the age-old tradition of the ancient B:AA podcast that has been passed on from generation to generation, custom now dictates that I ask you, the fine forum folk, to provide some questions for the forthcoming podcast (which will be recorded on Monday, probably).

It'll be with everyone's favourite Lead Narrative Person Poz, otherwise known as Mr. Paul Crocker. He and mycoldman will be talking about voice acting, including Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill's involvement, what they were like to work with, how RS started getting voices in the game, etc, etc, etc.

So! If you have a question about this (or anything B:AA related) that you'd like answered, here's the place to ask!

Redo due to misreading. About voice casting - Did you find that Kevin and Mark contained attatchment's to the character's and understanding's about their character?

Ask how/why Mark Hamill went in a slightly different direction with voicing the joker in the game then what he did in TAS.

How many people besides Arleen, Kevin and Mark reprised their roles from TAS? (this is me being sneaky to see who else is in the game lol)

If there are Scenes with Harley and Joker, how well is the chemistry between Arleen and Mark when watching them work? Same for Mark and Kevin as well.

I'd like to know how Mark felt about taking a bit of a darker and edgier style with the Joker's voice.

Question: Were there any requests on doing the voice alittle bit different or did you allow the voice actors to just swing it their way withouth asking "could you do it more sinister" or "could you do it abit more gruffier" or so.

No its more than that. Its not just the deeper raspier voice. The voice has evolved no question.

General - Will this game contain easter egg's and/or references to the animated series, movies, comice's, etc in the game, i.e. a reference of Tim Burton by someone like a gaurd being called Burton?

To Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill: You guys probably didn't expect to be voicing Batman and Joker for most of your lives when you were younger, do you ever regret your job? Do you ever want to stop voice acting Batman and Joker?

Also, Keir, if you ask them my question, can you please tell mycoldman to tell them they're my favourite voice actors ever? :D

The crew at Rocksteady have made it clear that they drew inspiration from material like Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth. Were the voice actors asked to go through these works to reintroduce themselves with the characters or to get a feel for the tone of the game?

Also, a question that I've asked Keir and don't know if he has ever receieved an answer to: Is there any way for us to stay updated on Rocksteady's future projects?

Did Kevin Conroy discuss doing anything different with his voice to reflect the darker tone of the game? Did Rocksteady ever consider going for someone different because of that?

I heard that you guys liked hamil's voice sk much that you asked him
back to record more. I'm interested to know if his extra lines affected the story or if it was just random phrases to say over the speaker while you're walking around? I don't expect you to say how they affected the story, just a yes or no

Also maybe if you could compare/contrast working for arkham as opposed to the animated series.
Also I'd just like to say I'm a big fan. All of the voice actors really add a lot of character to this game. From the snippets I've heard I'm impressed by whoever does zsaz

Question: Do you think there will ever be any voice - actors who can replace Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill when they're gone? It's difficult for me to imagine and makes me a little worried.

Another question: Is Arleen Sorkin hot ?

I'm not 100% on whether this fits as a viable question or not here... but....

Please please please.... would it be possible for you to make some footage of Mark doing his recording of the Joker voice available as bonus material? Pretty please?

Did all of the voice actors do thier sessions alone? Or did you do some sessions for certain scenes with multiple actors?

It adds more depth and flavor to a scene when the actors actually are in the room together, rather than responding how they're supposed to respond, in my opinion. I hope for the latter <.<

Along with the question about videos of their recording sessions as extras, perhaps a mix of that and bloopers could be made? I love the bloopers section for both Soul Reaver 2 and Legacy of Kain: Defiance. Simon Templeman, Michael Bell, Tony Jay (before he passed), Richard Doyle -- all were funny in their own ways. I am sure the TAS crew are as well :) And they recorded together, at least in pairs, for the scenes, though I've heard that in video games, this usually isn't the case. It's just one at a time.

Another question that already hasn't been asked: how magical was it to watch the game come alive once the voices and sound work in general was all added? I am sure it brought a lot of validation that this game is amazingly engrossing, once those core ingredients were in place. :) Not to mention, working with this legendary group of voice actors.

Oh, just thought of another one: were any of the actors mo-capped to get their mouth movements in line with the animations of the characters? Or is that all basically hand animated? Whichever way it was achieved, it looks amazing.

2. Who do you think is most like the animated series/easiest person to reconize?
3. Isnt Hamills laugh freaky or what?
4. Did Keir do voice acting for a character, If not WHY????

The Joker's voice in the game has changed slightly from The Animated Series. Did he have to change his voice slightly to make it suit the dark, gritty environment of Arkham Asylum?

This is the only footage which is easily accessible of her. She's the one with the monkey :nut: She was in her mid-forties when recording this, with that in mind, she's not looking half bad at all. Without knowing this many have placed her in her early thirties. So she was probably very hot when she was in her 20s.

And yes Walla, I agree with the point I made earlier that we wanna have footage :p

1st of all you should be aware the lung cancer voice comes from the sound editors. Christian Bale didn't do the voice differently from Batman Begins but the sound editors thought it was a bright idea.

Excuse me? I am not a "know it all", and I'd appreciate it if you didn't comment on me personally without any reason for doing so. You made an incorrect statement which has been repeated so many times, and I told you what information we have received this month. If you can't handle being told that you made a factual error, then that's no fault of mine. I don't think you know me, so don't claim that you do. I wouldn't make any real-life swipes at you without any justification.

Don't make such hateful judgments. I wasn't even targeting you, specifically. I used your complaint that we barely receive information to show others that such a claim is incorrect.

If you corrected me, I would thank you. If you want to call me a know it all on a thread that is not supposed to be for personal attacks, at least have the facts on your side. If you even knew who I am as an individual, I'm sure you would be aware that I'm a friendly user on this forum who regularly posts information, participates in discussions, etc. However, there's one thing I can't stand: assumptions that are made without any justification.

Don't make such hateful judgments. I wasn't even targeting you, specifically. I was simply using your claim that we barely receive information to show others why that's wrong. You need to calm down. I've acknowledged several times that I make errors, and I hardly qualify as a "know it all" (once more, don't make claims about me that can't be supported, especially since we've never met); perhaps you should do the same.

Thanks.

I have a couple questions...

Was there any improvisation on the part of the actors?

Was recording done with everyone in solitary booths or together similar to a radio play or table read?
