Can you reveal what's in the goody bags? Anything game changing? Because if so, I need to look at ebay when this is done. Man, US seems to be jipped at the moment. I mean I can't read Judge Dredd or see Batman Arkham Asylum, I am sad...by any chance Keir will you record the gameplay?

To be confirmed. Nothing game changing. A t-shirt and something probably.

Well, I'd love that. I'll see if I can get Eidos to pay for me to go to NYC because I love that place :D

Seriously speaking, at least you guys have the combat demo in stores, we haven't got that here so the idea of the day is to allow people to get their hands on the game :)

I have a bit of a dilema:

Friend's 18th birthday and we're going paintballing on the 15th and for some reason he's had to re-schedule to the 18th, to which I'm pretty pee'd off.

Well it's kinda his fault because he should have double-checked everything beforehand. Anyways..."IF" I do miss his b-day I'll come.

I live in Wimbledon and can easily get to London Bridge (London, London, London we be going down like London London London).

I went to America on my own for a month when I was 16. I was never a very independent person, but the opportunity came up to do so and I jumped at it. So glad I did, I'd regret it if I didn't.
So, just go for it. Trust me, you'll be glad you did and you'd be able to get over the issue of not being able to travel far on your own.

Not sure about parking mate, have a look on their site. I'd recommend getting the tube though, but that's just me.

I've asked and I don't think people will be allowed to film - cameras should be OK (outside the presentation part).

If you're 15 and have a parent/guardian with you that's OK.

Can't you tempt people with the lure of doing something else in London once the event ends?

That's what I'm gonna do. "Nightwing plus one" :p Then I get up and climb the building saying "I want my batarang!" Which is then followed by them calling for the men in white coats :D

I notice a few people seem to be complaining of travel troubles.... I'm gonna be taking the car straight down the A1/M1 from Newcastle, so if anyone is having travel troubles then I may be convinced to pick them up along the way.... so long as it's not too far out of my way. And they're willing to put in some cash towards petrol. If that's useful to anyone then drop me a PM and we'll discuss it, see if it can work.

Well after getting all the details sorted, time off work, getting a lift into London from my mum, everything.
She then says she has a barbeque to go to, and could've swore I said I was going to London on the 11th.

I'll see if I can get another way into London, so keep me on the list. And don't worry, I severely beat my mother for her ignorance.

Got to agree with the England guys here. Batman would go where the situation calls him. It would have to be a situation that specifically requires his assistance like say a Raz Al Ghoul world destruction plot. That or a threat that needs the JL. JL missions usually lead him everywhere. But yeah, Gotham is always going to be the place he comes back home to.

PS Not all Americans are as Pro-America. Please don't judge us all on a couple of guys. As for the flag in Spiderman thing, I thought the flag scene was lame in Superman 2. I hate when they do that "They're cooler now cuz they're Patriotic" crap in films.

Actually, you'd be wrong there.

The imagery of a flag embodies what the country stands for, so the sight of a flag would bring the memories of that country you may have. And in so, making one feel patriotic.
Same sort of idea with the 'clothes making the man'. Clothes are a reflection of personality, we based our impressions of a person upon what we see them wearing. Thus, making the man.

"Clothes make the man. Naked people have little or no influence on society." - Mark Twain.

"Clothes make the man. Naked people have little or no influence on society." - Mark Twain.

Never quote Mark Twain in my presence. The things he gets quoted for usually appear to be deep to the casual observer, but anyone with a brain cell in their head who looks a little deeper immediately says "hang on a second! That's total nonsense." In this particular instance, I would point out that some of the most successful protest campaigns in modern times involve nudity. So the naked man has plenty of influence on society at the top. Even in the middle, the naked rambler demonstrated clearly that he could stir up controversy and change people's opinions. So they even have influence at the lower levels. If you're going to quote someone, quote Noel Coward or Oscar Wilde.

Back on topic to Batman, I don't think old Batsy would have any patriotic stirrings at all. It doesn't strike me as his style. Everything is that little bit more personal if you get my drift.

would just like to inform the american patriot that in Batman and Son, Bruce Wayne travels to london to relax, and ends up having to fight as Batman against an army of ninja Man-Bats, he also makes it his personel mission to save the wife of our Prime Minister (poor Mrs. Blair, being manhandled by all those devious beings, and then after the conservatives are done with her, she is taken away by the man bats!)

Also, Alan Moore (writer of The Killing Joke) is very british, and the best writer for Batman (imho) Grant Morrison is British.

And dont say "Boy Blunder", if you knew anything about Batman, and you werent just a movie fanboy, you would know that the comic Robin (Richard Grayson, Jason Todd and Tim Drake) were ALL essential to Batmans character, Richard with his charm and light heart to keep Bruce from hanging himself, Jason with his dark side to keep Bruce from falling into the dark and setting a bad role model for Jason and Tim for being a great detective and working out that Batman needs a ROBIN, not the other way around.

I suppose when you say Boy Blunder, you are thinking of the Golden/ Silver Age Robin and the Burt Ward Robin, but those were just naturally happy and camp times, or maybe Chris O'donnel (sp?) who was far to old to play Robin.

Or maybe you were listening to Christian Bale and Chris Nolan? Bale can act, but he knows nothing about Batman, and Nolan may be the best thing to happen to Batman on film since 1989, but he is very far away from EVER capturing that true comic esscence of Batman (which he seems to avoid in his "ultra-realism" world, bloodey cop-out)

I know this seems long and a little ranty, but everyone on this forum are Bat fans, and Rocksteady have obviously shown a devotion and love for the universe that hasnt been seen since B:TAS, so think twice before you insult my country, my heroes and all those people that work really hard to make people remember why he is called "The BOY WONDER" and why Superman is super.

Thanks for reading

p.s. if you were "only joking lol" then i guess i was "only joking lol"

OFFTOPIC: also, incase you didnt notice, I am not a Nazi-BNP, nor am I Tourie fan, so I guess that makes me Labour, but at this moment in time i feel this "New Labour" is destroying our way of life, and merely cowering in the corner as all the horrors reality come crashing down on their heads , help a fellow Brit, who the hell am i meant to support? On a separate note Keir.... no Crocker? I'm disappointed!

Doesn't look like it, shame as he's a very nice bloke (and appears on the internet more than Rick Astley).

any confirmations if the devs coming will be on the floor, willing to answer questions? Or will they just be on a panel or doing a Power Point Presentation on how they tried to fit Wonder Woman into B:AA?

Yeah they'll be about so you can ask them questions :)

Didn't think I would be able to make it but just booked train tickets. Might have been cheaper if I booked when I first looked, oh well. Good excuse for my first London visit, plus some pics of the sights as well.

So I just walk into this place at about quarter to (I'm very punctual ) say my name to he big muscly guard and I get in? Will there be help to direct us in this place to the applicable room(s)?

Just looked and Roxy's is next to a supermarket as well, perfect for a quick snack before or after. Probability of me getting lost, about 0.7

Ok well i just got in and what can i say. It started off with a quick rundown about the game. But anyone that is on this sight should already know that by now.

The presentation was playing on a great big HD projection screen. Ian really knew his stuff. While making it look like he was new too the game he truely kicked some ass at it. Nothing really to report they didn't show off much story just about rescuing some doctors No new gagets to talk about.

Then we had a QnA with Sir Steffon. I asked a few questions. About Free roaming at the end of the game and Damage to batmans suit. ( if anyone wants to put a face to my name )

Then we got some hands on. Frist off i jumped onto a 360 and played the E3 demo. I Don't think i need to talk to much about this as people should have already seen the videos. I Skipped most of the cutsceens just to get too some action. Only bad points were that it felt like i was rushing as there was a Sea of people behind me waiting to play. This is a game you really need to sit down and take your time over. Imagin playing Splinter Cell for the first time with 40 people standing behind you waiting to play. Your going to rush and make mistakes.

Then i moved over too the PS3 where it seems a lot quiter so i had time to do things propper. I jumped into a game of Silent Predator. So soon as it booted up i tryed to do something and the controls were diffrent from the 360 version so i had to relearn the, ( only the shoulder buttons .. they seems to be mapped diffrently IMO 360 were a better layout )

I wont go into too much detail but i did do something really funny. Zipped up ontop of a gargoyle. Theres a move you can do where you can hang from underneeth the gargoyle grab a thug and take up back ontop of the gargoyle attach a rope to him and drop him. After doing that i zipped to the otherside of the room as his mates were coming to see what was going on. Once they got into place i threw a batarang at the rope to my surpise cut and dropped the thug ontop of his mates.

After that my mate played as the joker. While its nothing more of a reskin with a diffrent move set and gagets. Although it was funny to watch. It defently seems worth getting the ps3 version as its free. Steffon did say to his knowlage Joker is PS3 only and will stay that way forever.
I did notice a few glitches on the presentation but really how could you miss batman doing a round house kick 2 feet above a thugs head to then have the thug take a slow mo dive. Also there still seems to be Cape clipping issues. Maybe it was an old build i don't know.

Needless to say i wont be cancelling my collectors edition. But i do have one complaint.

I DIDN'T GET A GOODIE BAG WTF KEIR. I did see Ian outside as i was leaving but he was on his phone and i didn't want to disturb him.

( sorry for spelling mistakes i wrote this once it vanished so i had to do a quick rewrite )

"Then we had a QnA with Sir Steffon. I asked a few questions. About Free roaming at the end of the game and Damage to batmans suit. ( if anyone wants to put a face to my name )"

What answers did Sefton offer for those questions?

I asked,

" We all know that the game is a Free Roaming game. But once we finish the story can we go back into the asylum and just explore the ares looking for the missing riddler ? "

He answered " Yes you will be able too. Enemies you have taken down wont make a return and the Riddler ? you miss while playing the story mode is missed XP. But yes you will be able too. "

" We have all seen that when batman takes damage he suit rips and gets damaged. Are you able to repair the damage too the suit "

" No you can't its just cosmetic and dosn't affect the gameplay at all !

There was more people there than in Keirs orignal post. About 50 or so. I dunno where they all come from but it wasn't too bad. Dunno why i didn't get a bag though. As long as there wan't a demo in it i am not overly bothered. But would have been nice.

Keit found out late that people from facebook and Twitter were coming (I think, correct me if I'm wrong Keir!?)
They laughed at the original score thing as they expected the sound dev to elaborate and he didn't, sir Sefton helped out a bit with that ;-)

Just got home and have to say it was AMAZING.

And Paul Crocker did show up, and amusingly was addressed as Paul 'Captain' Crocker. I didn't go and talk to him and tell him it was me who did one of pictures though.

At first there was a ****load of people waiting around for a go on the pods but me and my friends just sat it out a short while and then we managed to secure some pods and played. It was great stuff.

I didn't take many pictures like I said I would but I'm sure Keir has plenty.

Then came the combat challenge. Wow! I was reluctant to enter at first but my mate just went and signed me up anyway. Lol. I'm glad that he did now.

*WARNING - LONG, LONG STORY AHEAD*

At first, the people in the competition chose the harder map because you can get more points than if you did it on the normal map. However, you had to complete all four rounds to actually get a score. So, eventually everyone started doing the normal map to actually get some points. A high-score of 11,000 rolled in and I knew that I got 7,000 when I played it on the pod for myself and I think I'd actually come close to completing the hard map on the pods on my own so when it came around to my go, I chose the hard map.

The first round I think I managed to get through without too much damage. The second round was harder, being beaten down a bit, I just managed to pull through with little health. The third round ramped up the difficulty even further. I was up against a LOT of henchman and a knife-wielding mad man. Plus, there were guns on the wall. I knew I had to focus and be careful or I wouldn't pull through. I was beating the crap out of everybody but still receiving blows now and again from every direction. My health was slowly draining and with each blow I'd take, the watching crowd replied with a "Ooooh." I kept at it, but suddenly a henchman ripped an assault rifle from the wall and sprayed it at me. I frantically tried to dodge and get close to the gun wielding thug, but absorbed a lot of gun fire in the process. However, it wasn't quite over yet. I clung onto life and beat down the thug and finally the knife dude and JUST scraped through to the final round.

This was it, if I pulled this off, I would have won. I felt that I had proved myself and had the crowd on my side for this round. It started and I pummled the thugs left and right, taking a few hits whilst doing so. I tried to remain calm and not hammer on the attack button but press it steadily to build up a combo and counter effectively. Batman was flying around the sewers smashing inmates in the face and snapping limbs. It was intense. I'd get smacked in the head with a pole and the crowd would give me another "OOOOH!". I'd be beating on henchmen when someone from the crowd shouted and told me one dude had a gun so I flipped over to him and took him out. However, I was being overrun. I still got hit and was again riddled with bullets but JUST stayed alive long enough to take him. My health was pretty much 0 but I had to go on. There wasn't too many thugs left and I had to believe I could do it. I got cornered and tried so hard to attack and counter the incoming fists and boots but they got me. One **** punched me in the head and I was down. I fought valiantly but it was not enough. I had been defeated. I could hear the disappointment from the crowd at my defeat. Yet again, the Sewers map remained unconquered.

I was treated to a big round of applause and I left my seat. Not really feeling disappointed or sad at my loss. I was happy. I knew I'd put on a good show for the crowd and I could tell they enjoyed it just as much as I did. When the time rolled around for the winner to be announced, they did so as expected and the winner went to recieve his batarang. That's you Reecio. Congrats mate :thumb:
But they didn't go off yet. They called the guy over who wrote all the names down of the people who signed up. And they asked if I was there! I signalled where I was and they called me up and they told me that because I fought so hard, that I deserved a batarang of my own! Sefton presented it to me (who is awesome by the way) and we shook hands and I let Keir take a picture.

*END OF LONG STORY*

And... yeah... that's my (supposedly) epic tale of me winning a batarang.

Overall, it was a fantastic day and I'm looking forward to this game even more now. :D

I won the challenge map comp and got a batarang too which I got signed by all the devs there :-D

I was on the one who had to play right after you. I got a nice score of 9810 on the PS3 pods, so I was feeling somewhat confident. Yeah, didn't go so well for me.

Only person I met was Zombie-Gamer. I didn't even get to see Keir.
Loved it either way. I am so hyped up for this game now, I love the combat. Not so good at the "Invisible Predator" stuff...

Good idea! I'll do the same in a sec, got some spare 360 boxes and I got the 360 sleeve :)

You should of got the batarang signed by the devs tho, if u had stuck around near the end u could of jumped in on the action as I was being blind led to the devs since when they were named they were standing behind a pillar to me!

So had no idea who I was talking to, fortunately one of them helped me out with a pen (thanks!) and another led me to all of them and even showed me the moves that would of got my score nearer the 20000 mark that one of them got at the end of the competition!
(Mainly how to use the weapon selection so you can use the batclaw to pull the weapons out of their hands and multiple batarangs....... couldnt get them to work without aiming tho, maybe needs to be in freeflow?)

Yes, call me Stilton if you want to.

Batarang is plastic as you all probably suspected and it's not actually that heavy but still very cool.

So it took us ages to find the Roxy bar but then we got there and we'd missed about half of the gameplay, maybe even more, but it was still really, really good. The Q and A with Sefton was really cool, but half of the questions he wasn't able to answer. We then played the game, which I can say was really, really good, but it's a lot harder than it's made out in the videos. The Silent Knight Challenge was my favourite map, but the combat challenge rooms were indeed a challenge, especially the extreme map. I also had my photo with Sefton and Keir, which was really cool. Overall, and absolutely fantastic day which was made even better by everyone there. I know I was stood behind Reecio at one point, and I heard someone with a scouse accent, which I presume was Zombie-Gamer but yeah, everyone was really nice and I'm really looking forward to this game.

No need for the sarcasm when it's unrelated to what I said. At least do it properly next time. ;)

You said "plastic is kinda cheap for a hefty price tag", which led me to believe that you only thought a Batarang was included in the CE (we should all know that they wouldn't produce a metal Batarang for obvious game production reasons). Therefore, I decided to say, "With that price tag, there are also other bonuses to justify the cost."

I had a chat with keir there. He mentioned some demo dates to me for some random reason I completly forgot, possibly to do with hate towards him instead of the suits, but these were not actual confirmed ones so I won't say. Was a July date release and an believed to be undated August demo, but most people should believe this anyway. But I did learn a bit of dirt about a few issues. Should I try blackmail to see what I can get the community? ;)

What score actually won the challenge? I left just after the 11k score bumped mine to second. Did a bit of sightseeing, only pics I took was of landmarks. Did spend time on the train to Birmingham coming up with excuses. The two I have are inexperience with demo, only played the map once before the challenge and becoming swiss bat in Predator, and inexperience with the 360 pad. Instead of hitting B+Y to takedown in the starting rounds I was hitting X+Y, won't be making that mistake on my DS3 come August.

So far seen no pics of me featured, which is always a good thing. You don't want to scare away the potential customers. One will appear at some point though I am sure.

One final note, not seen it said here but the inevitable question about Joker DLC coming to 360 was made. I listened carefuuly to Sir's answer on this. "No plans" seems to be some sort of code now for "Yes at some point, but now we are tied to a contract and can't discuss it". The actual reply was along the line of "I did not sign the contract - but as far as I am aware it's PS exclusive". Make your own minds about that one.

Nope. I was just behind the sofas on the left of the xbox with blond hair. (As my avatar suggests.... friends of mine made it ages ago when they decided to start calling me Nightwing... they just made the hair blond. [lazy gits])

I think everyone should have been wearing nametags or something lol. I think we actually exchanged some random banter without properly introducing ourselves. Just off hand chatter.

Well, visually, I'm someone who sticks out in a croud so I'm pretty sure most people saw me. What was great was that no-one hogged the consoles; everyone would have a go then turn round and ask if someone else did, which I thought was really cool and really good of everyone.

After that my mate played as the joker. While its nothing more of a reskin with a diffrent move set and gagets. Although it was funny to watch. It defently seems worth getting the ps3 version as its free. Steffon did say to his knowlage Joker is PS3 only and will stay that way forever.

Nice write up. Sounds like a fun time. Quick question, though- would it technically be a reskin if he has different moves and gadgets?

Yes, but I "didn't hear" any response that may (or may not) have been given...

Thanks to Keir and everyone at Rocksteady/Eidos for making it happen - can't wait until I can play more!

Shared my impressions with the guys at the Sanctuary4Gamers.com (http://www.sanctuary4gamers.com) podcast yesterday (episode should be up on Wednesday) - unfortunately, recording started late so we were a bit rushed for time and I couldn't spend as long as I wanted to going into detail, but hopefully I'll have left the listeners with the impression that it's well worth checking out. :)

Edit: Just to clarify, I honestly couldn't tell you when the demo is actually coming out - nobody (that I talked to) let slip that particular nugget.

Just had to add something as it made me giggle........

My friend Rob (You can probably spot him in some of the pix, very tall guy with a shaved head) got talking to the Artist guy who is French (So Rob said), he asked him a bit about the game and doing the art work etc, he then asked him what he thought of Ghostbusters.

He replied that he didnt know as he'd been working on the game for ages and hasn't really had time to play other games etc. They stood around awkwardly for a while and just when he had thought of something good to ask him I interrupted and got him to sign my Batarang!

Oopsie! hehe :)
