Howdy ladies and gents, here's my first ever thread here, hope it's a memorable one.

Obviously this can't be a vs or "which game is better" thread. RE5 has been out for a few months and BAA won't come out for a few months. No, for awhile I've been kicking this idea around in my head, with game engines and developers aside... I have been thinking that you could put Batman from BAA(with the free flow combat, the silent predator gameplay, and his gadgets) in the enviornment of Resident Evil 5 (complete with the enemy AI) and I think it could mesh very well without compromising much on either end. I'm not saying it would be perfect(having Batman in the middle of the day in the African dessert is more TBATB style) but I think it could be a good game experience.

I'll give you reasons with combat and stealth. Combat would be easy, swarms of enemies come after both Chris and Batman. The only difference is Batman gets punched and kicked while Chris gets grabbed and devoured. And they both get attacked by blunt objects, knives, and guns. So Free Flow Combat would completely work for infected townspeople, the only difference is Batman could have to shake off people who grab him just like Chris does, but he could counter that before they grab him. Axes, knives, and other weapons, Batman would have to vault over to avoid attack.

When it comes to the infected people with AKs, those levels could be reworked to be more along the lines of Silent Predator style, and with the HUGE rooms that you regularly see as Chris and Sheeva... there could be plenty of grapple points and places to hide.

And then finally, if you face bigger enemies(guy with axe, chainsaw guys, 9 foot tall Majini tribesman, lickers, bugs) that could be more like facing the venom enhanced thugs only you have to dodge their specific attacks. Plus those could be more gadget oriented enemies where you would have to use the batarang or batclaw to take them out.

I'm not too sure how you could work the boss battles but if anybody has any ideas... go ahead and post them. That's what this nonsensical thread is for. But yeah, Batman vs Resident Evil 5... it's my first thread and I hope you enjoy it as much as I've been thinking about it. :D

Lol! RE5 is the biggest joke ever.

I bought it day one, and have regretted it ever since.

C'mon it ain't that bad. Sure it got rid of all the exploration and puzzle solving, but it was still a fun game.

It's in 3rd person but over the shoulder.

I'm wearing a Resident Evil T shirt right now, If it's RE I've got it..... But I gotta say Batman will probs be better than RE 5, I only don't like it cause its just a shooter instead of horror, what up with you CAPCOM!....................... sorry bout that folks

I've never understood why folks complained about Resident Evil losing the 'horror' aspect of the game. Maybe it's because I was 16 years old when the first one released but that series has never, ever, been frightening to me. It's all about the b-movie plotlines, cheesy script, and generally just surviving what the game throws at you from my perspective. I've enjoyed all the RE games, some much more than others, but they all have their moments.

All that said, Batman might fit into the RE5 setting for some of the plotline, but I can't imagine him taking down someone like Wesker without using a gun, which he just won't do.

Well guns don't really work well against Wesker anyway. However dark places and striking him from behind work very well, and that's part of Batman's MO.

Shooting Wesker only makes him mad,

RE5 is so mediocre. I didn't like it that much. I prefer RE4, which means I'd prefer BAA more. ;)

Guns were a distraction when you fought Wesker. Batarangs don't fly at the speed of bullets, so he'd have to find another type of distraction. Factor in also that Wesker and Chris have history, and so Wesker tends to 'play' with him. I don't think he'd have that same issue with Batman. Finally, Wesker /does/ use guns, very well. Certainly not the typical thug/villain Bats would face off against.

little off topic i guess but i think RE4 raised the bar that high that RE5 just didnt reach it at all, was grinding my teeth playing through it has id just spend 55 pounds on the special edition and wanted to get my moneys worth.
that said
im hoping AA will be much more memorable than RE5 was.

I love Resident Evil 5 and the series its self I got a 1000G on that game just playing by myself not co-op. I thing batman AA could use some of the stuff they use in RES5 like shaking the enemies off like you said.

Personally, I think RE5 was the best of the series and the most enjoyable.

I always hated the lame puzzles, the find this item then go all the way to the other side and come back aspect, and finally the annoying sluggish zombies. I'm so glad they fixed it with RE5.

That said, if BAA is more of a game like RE5 then it'll be money well spent imo.
