After Lau transfers the money to Hong Kong, Batman, Harvey, and Gordon meet on the rooftops to discuss bringing him back. When Gordon is yelling at Harvey after his unit is accused of being corrupt, you can hear his English accent breaking quite a few times. It's very, very noticeable.
Anyone notice this?
"They had marked bills. They knew we were coming! As soon as your office got involved..."
This is where it's clear that he has an accent.

The guy was Dracula, Zorg, Sirius Black, and a whole other bunch of diverse characters with different speech and mannerisms. Who cares if he slips he's a legend. It doesn't matter.

Oh, I know. I just thought it was an amusing character slip that showed off his nice accent.

Do you mean Zorg as in Zurg from Toy Story? Just curious :nut:.
As for Gary Oldman, I think he's awesome in everything he does. He nailed Jim Gordon and was a nice contrast to the horrible Jim Gordon from the Burton movies :hmm:.

I love how he resembles Gordon in Batman: Year One, too. Best casting in the film, imo.

lol true, and if you noticed the door that gordon came out of, you can see buildings in the background. Which means nolan and his crew built that little thing gordon came out of but didn't build a wall on the other side lol. Next time you watch tdk while gordon is coming out of the door to yell at harvey look behind gordon as he comes out. lol I love tdk but they made alot of mistakes in that movie that im shocked they didin't notice in the editing room or just didn't care about. Still a kick ass movie!

especially the "They knew we were coming part",but he managed to pull it off quite nicely, since his character was under alot of stress.

I just popped in my DVD and went to that part. You're right - there's no wall if you look closely.

Obviously because the characters were loyal to their comic counterparts it equals bad acting. :P :rasp:

The back and forth banter felt unreal.
"MY OFFICE, YOU EXPECT ME TO--- OH YEAH GORDON!"

Thats how it comes with 3 stubborn men all trying to work together to save Gotham, the scene was pretty much from the early chapters of "The Long Halloween" I mean ofcourse Harvey Dent was pissed off that Lau got away because he knew there were corrupted units in Gordon's team.

Yeah, Gary Oldman has been consistently brilliant in almost every role he's ever played. On top of that, I felt that Aaron Eckhart was a real revelation as Harvey Dent. So you bring up the one scene where the two best members of the supporting cast are going at it and complain about it?
Either you just don't know what you're talking about or....

Yeah, the only thing I was disappointed about in that scene was the stiff figure standing there facing forward the whole time in a cowl and cape. If he'd been able to turn his head like he was actually observing the conversation, it might have been more convincing. Kinda made me cringe.
and lets not forget his most MEMORABLE roll EVER !!!!

The best there is so far. My friend tho doesn't like Gary Oldman as Gordon because "i wish he could play a villain instead" ^^;

Yeah, Oldman is the best actor for Gordon. He's such a terrific character actor, and he resembles Gordon well.

Good. Batman is one to make people cringe. That's why I actually like the stiffness; it makes him more a predator-looking thing than simply a man wearing a costume.
And you can really debate whether or not Oldman actually "slips" into his actual accent. But, people see and hear what they want to when hey have a notion of where people are from and who they are already. I don't think anyone would have guessed Oldman was English in this role if they didn't already know this.
And there's no "back wall" beyond the partition that is the roof access. It's not another level of the building. They are on the roof and the stairwell access is only so big. That's the size of the structure behind them, so it's going to be open beyond that girth. It's also the same set used in Batman Begins, considering this is the same roof Gordon already chased Batman to before Wayne was actually Batman and was in his black ski mask and such. When he leaps from that roof to another building, almost breaking his ribs when he slams into the fire escape (or, maybe he did bust a couple). More cops come up asking Gordon what that was. "Just some nut," Gordon replies. It's the same roof...
