Commandos 2 mulitplayer... how?

Hey guys,

How do i join a multiplayer match? My friend makes it and I ennter his IP adress as the server adress.. but it doesnt show up in the lobby...:mad2:

Any ideas? Thanks!

1.You and your friend is same version. v1.0 or v1.20 or v1.34.
2.and the server ip adress not Lan or in-company network.
3.check the firewall is not reject the comm2.exe.

to suggest use the "GameRanger" to player commandos games.

Thanks for the reply. How do I tell what version I am on? What is GameRanger?

The version you are using appears in the main screen of the game. Anyway, you can retrieve it from the comm2.exe binary just right clicking over it->property>details, and you will get the full version number of the binary.

About the GameRanger, I´ve no idea.

How do I do this? comm2.exe is in the program files, right? I go there and right click. there is no version number. No Property either. I am running Vista. Where in the main screen does it show it? How do I download a patch for it??

As promised, here we are again, the everlasting community that clearly loves the series and is keeping you up to date on all what's going on, basically on the unofficial side of things, since the official one gives us no interesting news so far. Right, lets start with some good new: first of all I want to thank Scott Kevill for creating an alternative to GameSpy called GameRanger, it supports a big load of games including our Commandos 2 and 3!

GameRanger got even more interesting! Since games like Commandos nowadays are niche multiplayer games, it is quite hard to find somebody to play with: sitting in the lobbies waiting for somebody to show up. Not anymore! GameRanger's new feture allows you to rceive a notification when somebody wants to play a game with you. That's right, no more waiting all day. If you are at home and want to have a game with somebody, simply leave a message and once somebody gets in, they will be automatially notified!
There seems to be a new project getting form in the Commandos Community, with new map designs and absolutely new missions! For more info, check out our forum.
