I have played this game previously and got through it. Seems this time I am stuck! The Fourth Retracting Ledge: When I either go straight to the Ledge, can't get Lara high enough to jump on slanted ledge on left. If I slide on first ledge, can't also get her high enough to jump on second slanted ledge. When I get to the last one (finally) there is no ledge for her to grab??? How in the heck do I get out of this wall running to finish CheckPoint 8????

I have played ALL the TR games...this one is just totally frustrating me and I do not like to end a game being stuck! I have viewed the pictures to see how it's done, but doesn't work! What am I doing wrong...anyone????

To me this was the most frustrating part of the whole game. I think I have tried this jump over 50 times, at least. Have you watched a video on YouTube? You have to be fast. When you have killed the two mutants, shoot the button again and when you are sure all symbols are lit, GO FOR IT!

This may seem impossible, but apparently it isn't. Don't give up, keep trying!!

I did this on the PC and was swearing things you don't want to hear, got threw it 2 hours later......

got this on the X360, you figure it be a breeze right? 45 mins later I finally got threw it..

Aahhh, this level was soo frustrating!!! I hated that part... :mad2:

But, you will find a lot of videos on youtube for that level.
Be sure that you jump very quickly and throw the grapple as soon as possible.

Thank you all so much for giving me the clue I needed to get through this *o%@$ 4th retracting ledge. After reading all of your advice, especially being quick to throw the grapple afer jumping, I got through it in two (2) tries. I have been at this for two weeks. I very much appreciated your assistance. I could have done this weeks ago! I was not grappling soon enough, therefore, Lara was out of range to jump on those slanted things. Oh, :D sooooooooooo very happy. Thanks a bunch Ol.a especially for that "fast" jump and grapple! On to the final!
