ok i'm new to Batman....I was never a fan of the movies at the theature I thought they were dissappointing...but this game looks better than the movies and to get me psyched up even more for the game I want to learn more about the characters in the cartoon series....and knowing I like cartoons/anime better than american movies I know I might like this...

So which series of batman do you recommend and why....why is it the greatest....I was reading up on two of the shows one Batman cartoon and the other Batman Beyond i'm thinking of most likely going with Batman Beyond cuz it's the most recent series....

So what do you recommend and why and in Batman Beyond are there just 3 seasons or a cartoon movie after that....I got confused on this website it lists more than the 3 seasons...it lists this too Batman Beyond: The Return of the Joker/Batman is that part of the series and is that in the box set of seasons 1,2, and 3 or is that part by itself.....is that a continuation of the series or not....any and all help would be greatly appreciated....if you could list more info thn what I asked this would be greatly appreciated too...

here is the link for the website i might be purchasing the seasons from of Batman Beyond...and the question I asked about Batman Beyond: The Return of the Joker/Batman

http://search.deepdiscount.com/search?w=Batman%20Beyond&af=cat1_dvds

Also is Batman Beyond better than Justice League....see Justice League doesn't just focus on Batman but Superman, Superwoman, etc. I heard Justice League ain't that great of a show too...also does Batman Beyond have character development in it and is each episode stand alone or continues after each other.....thanks again and my fault if this is too much to read....

Justice League has alot of awesome Kevin Conroy Batman action. Batman Beyond is good but it lacked a good gallery of villains, tho Mr. Freeze and the Jokerz were total badasses. Batman Beyond like any Bruce Timm cartoon has amazing characger development but really i'd recommend Justice League because the whole superhero theme is just amazing, thats ofcourse if your more open eyed to see and learn about other characters. But Batman Beyond. Return of the Joker is an amazing movie, one of the best.

Go with Batman: The Animated Series. Why? Watch it and the answer is right there.
Batman: Mask of the Phantasm is the best animated film by far. Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker is brilliant, but not on the scale of Mask of the Phantasm.

I liked Justice League. Probably more so than Batman Beyond.

Mask of the Phantasm is Kevin Conroy Batman's origin tale and also shows what Joker used to be. Justice League is an amazing serie with awesome plot development, honestly you can't deny it unöess you wanna stay stubborn at the fact it has Superman and other characters. Really it also has one of the best Batman moments ever.

It isn't related to Batman Beyond. Which is good. Seriously. Forget Batman Beyond, watch the Animated Series. Even "The Batman" was better than Batman Beyond.

There's a lot of character development in Justice League. Each hero have an episode effectively devoted to them. You get some that focus on everyone as a group, and some that do highlight one more than another. Which is good.

It had like... two seasons with about 52 episodes. And you also have "Justice League Unlimited".

I actually liked The Batman. More so in the later seasons. Before the introduction of the Justice League.
Batman Beyond just wasn't Batman. It was someone else in a Batsuit being told what to do by Batman. So not 'sway'.

Batman Beyond atleast was innotive and something new, while The Batman was trying to copy the success of Batman: TAS With more anime alike design and having everyone practically know how to kung fu. -.- Not to mention the show was way too censored and bad voice acting from Batgirl & Robin.

The Batman was actually my favourite Batman series, I also loved the voice acting and the movie with Dracula, which was one of the best Batman cartoon movies I have seen. The series had all moods of episodes such as comedy, drama and sometimes even horror. And this series is definately much better than Batman Beyond, sure Batman Beyond was an okay series but it just wasn't Batman to me.

see i'm a Marvel fan....they have the better comic books, cartoons, and movies....especiallly their x-men related stuff....who here thinks X-men is better than Batman.....X-men characters are more diverse and have way more personality......my favorites being Rogue, Gambit, and Emma Frost

Okay, I can't tell you how many seasons of Batman there are or anything, but I can tell you this: Batman the Animated Series is the closest of Batman adaption out of any movie or show. They almost get every character of the franchise right! It has good character development, but each episode is seperate from each other. And of course, the voice acting is AWESOME! Kevin Conroy is my favorite Batman and Mark Hamil is my favorite Joker out of any series/movies.

I also enjoy Justice League. As you said, its not focused only on Batman, but thats the most bad ass you ever see him.

Now Batman Beyond is based in the future where Bruce Wayne (The original Batman) is getting old and actually retires from being Batman. So then a teenage boy takes the mantle of being Batman and does a fairly decent job. I enjoy this series because I think it kinda has better character development than Batman The Animated Series and even better fight scenes (If you're into that.) But as somebody stated above, it doesn't have very memorable villains and I do prefer Batman the Animated Series.

Okay, now to get into the animated movies. Batman Mask of the Phantasm is based around the same time as Batman the Animated Series. Its by the same people and has the same voices and everything. It gets into the origins of Batman (Like Batman Begins) and he also gets blamed for the murders of gangsters and has to clear his own name. This is just like The Animated Series except its longer and has a better and deeper story.

Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker is based around the Batman Beyond series. (Obviously) And its about how Joker mysteriously comes back to life and the new Batman has to figure out whats going on, in a nut-shell.

In my opinion, Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker is a better movie. Never in any of the series or movies do you ever see the Joker so evil. I will not dare spoil what happens, but lets say he does something very horrific.

So overall, if you had to buy just one of the seasons of the cartoons, I'd buy Batman the Animated Series. As I said before it had good stories and is very true to the characters in the comic books. But if you're gonna buy one of the animated movies, then I think you should buy Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker.

Beyond isn't this Batman. Bruce Wayne is an old man and a new kid, Terry McGinnis (sp?) takes over. It's a good series, but not a lot of character background and you don't get emotionally attached to the characters. Rent the original Batman: The Animated Series. You will not be disappointed.

Justice League Unlimited is indeed continued from Justice League.

AND HOW DARE YOU LIKE MARVEL MORE!!! LOL! Just kidding, you're entitled to your opinion. I do indeed enjoy X-Men, they do have good characters, but I think Batman is the better series.

Batman Beyond has villains that were created just for the series. They were futuristic and very high teched based. A lot of them had some kind of super power too.

And yes, Batman and Joker are equivalent to X-Men and Magneto.

so should I get Batman Beyond or Justice League and why?

I already bought the first season of Justice league and I saw the first 8 episodes and so far they are boring will this change further down the road of all 4 seasons? When does the show get much better?

Well, if you think Justice League is boring, then perhaps there's no hope for you. :/ They do have some very exciting episodes further down the series though. And if you don't like Justice League, then possibly Batman Beyond is your best bet.

Justice League is so much more than just Batman, obviously.
You have to take what they give you, and it's just skim moments of Batman.
Batman Beyond on the other hand is a great alternate vision of Batman with some fun parallels to the original.

If you are a big Batman fan,
which a penchant for cyber punk,
Beyond is where to go.

On the other hand,
if you like the classic writing style that B:TAS presented
have other favorite DC heroes,
or just want to discover some other the more obscure/lesser known heroes,
then go Justice League.

I thought Beyond was the most interesting series for Bruce Wayne, covering a lot of ground TAS couldn't, now that he no longer has to hide behind the playboy mask.

I'm still entirely devoted to TAS though. It's possibly the most memorable, most quotable series I've ever seen.

Hey man I don't mean to start a fight or anything like that and u r entitled to ur opinion, but how can u like The Batman better then Batman Beyond? I mean sure It was a totally different Batman in Batman Beyond, but The Batman in my opinion at least was horrible. I mean The Joker in that series was I think 1 of the stupidest portrayal's I've seen of him so far (well second to Ceaser Romano (or however u spell his name) in the Batman live action series w/ Adam West).

Also cuz I didn't like the series too much (but so a couple of episodes tho) what were they trying to do w/ Mr. Freeze? Make him Batman's worst enemy or something? U know how the Joker is portrayed in just about almost any media.

Again I don't mean to offend anybody, This is just how I feel.

Hey bro, u don't really need to go out and buy any1 of these shows (unless u wanna c every single episode) just go to http://www.fancast.com/. In the search bar just type in Batman The Animated series or Batman Beyond, or w/e. I mean they don't have EVERY single episode but they have a good bunch of them to convince sum1 to like the character, if i do say so myself. Anyway u can also prob check on youtube and c if they have any of the eps, I'm almost certain they do. Ok anyway just try these sites, if u want.

I have all seasons except the justice league unlimited. And I have watched a few of those.

Batman Animated Series was the best, the characters were used greatly, it was dark, and it survived longer.

Batman Beyond was good. I think it was a good idea because no one has ever seen a teenage batman. It was set appropriately. Gotham needed a Batman because Bruce disobeyed one of his rules (killing wasn't the one) and Bruce was really old. The only flaw I see is the villains. Yeah, technically all of batman's villlains are old or dead already. Thats why freeze comes back, joker thought ahead, and bane has a small appearance in it's first season. So there weren't that many plot driving twists but it was great.

Justice League and Unlimited had the most plot twists and had some of the best batman action. The look of batman is supposed to be similar to the Btas but with the new animation. Same voice too. I love crossovers of universes and clashes of Batmans, this appears in the second season

The Batman was more action and toned down for kids. There were some good episodes. They brought in most characters, and they handled it well.

Don't forget the brave and the bold. It isn't out yet but it is still viewable. A lot of team ups, some interesting episodes, especially when Batman and Green Arrow travel back with Merlin. Alternate universes, owlman, a good redhood, so far one of the best episodes I have seen. In general it is ok.

Season 2 of Brave & Bold has been totally outrageous, i loved Tara Strong's Huntress and Paul Dini also wrote an episode for it.
