Suggestion to Eidos - why not release a small, fun Thief 4 flash game, just to hype up the upcoming release? It would be like throwing meat to a pack of hungry dogs for those that know the games, and it will help you reel in fresh new fans. Firefly Studios did a similar thing with Super Castle attack as a promo 2d game for Stronghold. If you don't have people that are good enough with flash and flash script, you can always hire some good developers, like Crazy Monkey Games, Armor Games, or even some of the better authors at Newgrounds. Thoughts?

I'd say a comic would be better, since a flash game wouldn't work well since it's not first person (because flash games in 1st person are immensely complex, and would take too much time away from other places it should be).

What I'd really love, is a beta of a single mission, or at least some mini test well before the end of development, so people can give them the criticism they need, and it should not be an internal beta. I'm not saying make it open to everyone on the planet, but make it accessible to the public, that way they're not overloaded with complaints or bug reports... but instead can get enough of a sample to find anything important that needs to be changed.

Personally I don't see the point. Though I wouldn't mind it if they actually did. This whole Thief 4 business has already got me wanting to play through all the previous ones again. Oooh and the Dark Mod will keep us plenty busy while we wait for this thing eh?

I'm actually hoping they don't hype the game too much. I'm a little angry that they announced this game and basically said they haven't done anything with it. So what, for the next 2 or 4 years I'm going to be anticipating this thing? I hope they had a good reason. Like, I hope they actually wanted to get us all talking about it to see what we want. If it turns out they could care less what we're saying then that's pretty lame.

Anyway, I like that comic idea.

There's more effective types of promotional material, but I suppose this in particular hasn't been done yet...Hm...

A 3rd person would be easy. I could do it. Maybe I will. Move char with WSAD and mouse to control the aim. Sneak around shadows. It'd be fun- but sounds less promotional, and more entertaining. Not exactly true to the thief series :nut:

When i said flash game i meant a 2d jump and run side scroller thing, not 3d aproximation of actual thief.

How about instead they work on making Thi4f a better game?
