View Full Version : Pillar Balancing
Anyone think that maybe the idea of Kain killing off all the "tainted" guardians might have been a crock? My only problem with this is that 1: in SR2 Mobies always seems to be in league with a different power than the pillars, as if he was always tainted, and 2: if all the guardians need to be cleansed, then what of the 10th guardian, the keeper of the blade? While Janos is not present in BO1, the reaver has to have found a successor, and if the successor is in fact Raziel then what is to be expected? Maybe the 10th guardian was displaced in time to prevent the forthcomming taint? Perhaps the free will Raziel and Kain demonstrate is less unexpected than it would seem. In fact, everything Raziel does seems to be expected by the Ancients, as he appears to be their savior... quite odd. Another rambling thought about moe, maybe, when the psychic tear tore up all the guardian's minds, Mobius, being the time-streamer, became corrupted through his entire timeline? That could explain a lot.
Sorry about the rambling, I'm sleepy, and if this belongs in another thread and I screwed up then please, again, forgive me.

Humans don't need to be "tainted" by outside magical forces to be corrupt, we do just fine by ourselves. I don't believe that the Reaver Guardian (Janos) would have a successor, simply because it isn't necessary, the Pillars are connected to the well-being of Nosgoth and vice versa so for the continued well-being of Nosgoth there must be active Guardians that are responsible for caring for aspects of Nosgoth.

I actually agree. I don't see how a new reaver guardian would be necessary. The reaver itself doesn't really tie in with the well being of the land like the pillars do. I always considered Janos to be keeping the blade until Raziel came to claim it, nothing more.

But what if the blood-thirst-curse given to the Vampires, makes the tenth guardian unable to use the reaver and its key for thier designed use. What if because of his unique abilities, Raziel is now able to do what Janos no longer can do because of the curse that afflicts him.

The pillers were never ment to protect the land and sustain it that is just a side benefit as Janos says to Raziel.
The humans took the pillers for their own wholy ignorent of their true purpose.
The binding must be secured raziel the pillers are the lock and the reaver the key.

Maybe Janos was not corrupted because of his "sole obligation and dedication" to the Pillars? This maybe why there is no need for a new Reaver Guardian.
In SR2 we find that the Ancient Vampires constructed the Pillars, and therefore can assume that this may provide all Vampires 'immunity' to any changes, whereas the humans who took them over are now corrupt.
I think theres more, but all this talk is making me think!

Janos was not corrupted because Nuprator's infection happens 530 years after his "death".
