If I buy the Collector's edition of Batman Arkham Asylum, will I be able to throw it? Or is it attached to the stand, so I can't remove it?

I would also like to know this.
I want to go to the park and throw it at suspicious looking people. -.-

Heh heh, I haven't thought about this, since it's plastic it couldn't hurt that much...sounds like fun. I'll have to bring that to my next Christmas party if it's throwable. :D

Well if it is plastic i'll dip it in hardening liquid so it will be a DEADLY WEAPON!!! mwahahaha!!
ionno... just a thought really...

The whole point of a Batarang is to throw it. If you can't throw it that would suck. It's the only thing i'm looking forward to in the CE edition. Everything else isn't really worth it in the CE for $100.

i'd laugh if you coud throw it. i'd knock my annoying neighbour out at night.

the more you guys talk about throwing it at people, the more likely it will be made out of plastic or worse,be removed
hope it comes attached to a stand looking all authentic like.
I haven't seen one yet but I'm thinking they'll be sturdy little things. I reckon I could use one in the office, taking out annoying people with it.
I've fielded a few questions about this and subsequent research has revealed they're made up of acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acrylonitrile_butadiene_styrene).

People, people. It doesnt matter if it's attached to the stand, we're still going to break it off.

lol it's the same material that makes LEGO bricks. You can allways sharpen the edges or line them with metal tips. I just hope the wings move somewhat on the center disk so it has some flicking power.

Am I the only one buying the CE edition for all the stuff besides the Batarang?

being a massive fan of batman, games, and collectables. CE is the obvious choice for me.
so i could say im buying it for the whole package not just for the batarang.
the leather journal looks cool.although if i read that before playing the game maybe it will spoil the suprise bosses for me who knows.
"making of" dvds are always a nice bonus too.
and who can argue with a challenge map thrown in there.
worth the £60/$100 if you ask me
probably better than the resi 5 and halo wars CE i bought...

I knew eventually someone would ask, I can see it now, 'Local boy arrested for possesion of a deadly weapon with what looks like a batarang." lol
it would be cool to actually throw it though.
I haven't seen one yet but I'm thinking they'll be sturdy little things. I reckon I could use one in the office, taking out annoying people with it.

Ah.............. so its a fancy word for 'expensive plastic'
DarkKnightDanny

probably the same material as a ps3/xbox control pad maybe. closest thing i could think of that might resemble the material used

You ever broken a LEGO brick?
It's damn near impossible.
If the batarang is a solid piece of plastic and not hollow and glued/snapped together, you'll be able to throw it at stuff to your hearts content with minimal worry of it breaking
Incidentally my tattoo artist only uses inks that contain ABS. He was telling me about it when he did my leg. :D

ABS is a basic material used for many kinds of play things...its very sturdy and I will greatly enjoy throwing it at stuff...but Im having a hard time thinking about it in Lego brick terms...its also what Airsoft guns are generally made out of so that helps me a little...but it will definitely be sturdy. Major Excitement.

no im buying it for the other stuff as well. its unlikley that you will be able to hurt someone. its like when you play power rangers or something similar at school and there is always one burk who succeeds in actually kicking some in the head.
if your that desperte to have a working one why not just make one. its basically a boomerang i refer you to the secrets of the batcave graphic novel. explains the batarangs in there. jst buy some sheet metal. cut it out. then throw it at some one and see what happens. (hopefully it will be prison then i won't have idiots cluturing up my street)

of course the intentions of the batarang are for show. but we all know know matter what we will find a way to get it off of that stand and throw it. hell i wont be surprised to see a tutorial thread on how to do it when the time comes

We can use the plastic batarang in the CE as a mold, get plates made from the mold, some piping hot liquid metal, make one attach the bldes to a plastic joint(so it can fold),paint them, and voila!

If it is attached, just yank it off, pull as hard as you can, and there you go.
