This is the last Official Press release by Eidos relating of Joker DLC!

OK, you ask: "What talking about?"

At the end of this press release is shown the release date

So all the news of Gameinformer are just rumors unfounded! :mad2:

Friday 24th April
Eidos Interactive and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announce that The Joker will be an exclusive playable character in Batman: Arkham Asylum for the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system. The character will be made available upon release as a free downloadable character through PlayStation®Network for the PLAYSTATION 3 and can be played in Challenge Maps from the game.

In Batman: Arkham Asylum, DC Comics’ DARK KNIGHT takes on his greatest challenge yet when he becomes trapped with all of his most dangerous villains inside the insane asylum of GOTHAM CITY - ARKHAM ASYLUM! Batman: Arkham Asylum exposes players to a unique, dark and atmospheric adventure that takes them to the depths of Arkham Asylum – Gotham’s psychiatric hospital for the criminally insane. Gamers will move in the shadows, instigate fear amongst their enemies and confront The Joker and Gotham City’s most notorious villains who have taken over the asylum. Using a wide range of Batman’s gadgets and abilities, players will become the invisible predator and attempt to foil The Joker’s demented scheme. Batman: Arkham Asylum features an original story penned exclusively for the game by famous Batman author and five-time Emmy award winner, Paul Dini, whose credits include Lost season one and Batman: The Animated Series.

Published in North America by Eidos, Inc. and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, and in Europe by Eidos Interactive, Batman: Arkham Asylum will also be available June 2009 on the Xbox 360 and PC.

That's a relief. But what if the game really does need the extra time? :(

I really hope Rocksteady delivers.

Maybe a patch can fix some issues (if any) after release?

I can honestly say that everyone involved in the development, production and publishing of B:AA is 110% committed to delivering the highest quality possible at release. It's great to see a product where that is so emphatically the case

I'm really glad to hear that. :)

I hope B:AA meets or surpasses everyone's expectations.

It's really sad that the best Batman game is based off a movie and is for the NES. :\

Demo news ?

I have none for you today. As soon as there is any, it'll be up here (and on the site) first. I'll try and make sure you chaps get a heads up on any announcements too (although not always possible due to the suits).

I wonder how the rumor started about it not getting released on time. I know it was Game Informer, but sometimes rumors have a little bit of truth in them. Obviously, we can only speculate, but I wonder why Game Informer would say something like that without being backed up by the official people.

Keir, thank you. Thank everyone @ Eidos for being this insanely fast about stomping out the Winter rumor, as well. I got to try the demo today, and... well, most things I would say are against the TOS, but in a glaringly positive way.
Major releases like infamous, and prototype, and DLC for Fallout 3, Fable 2, etc. are merely stepping stones to this game's release for me - that's how big this game is. Again, thank you.
One quick question: would any of you be opposed to me, or anyone for that matter, copying a store demo to an SD card to take home and play? If it matters, or helps, I can give my PSN ID.

thanks, 20. I can dream though. I can also visit GS daily, or weekly, until it's released on the PS store, or marketplace.

Fantastic news!

Sometimes "No comment" can be taken for face value. It's good that proved to be the case in this situation.

And I'm very glad that Rocksteady is so gung ho about this game. It's looking like this will genuinely be the first great Batman game... and 70 years after the birth of the character, no less! Haha! Well, it's been a long time coming, boys. Rocksteady's going down in history.

I personally wouldnt have cared if it was pushed back or not. Like most of you I want to play this game as soon as possible. However, I dont want to feel cheated after spending over 100.00 on the collectors edition. All of the intangibles of this game are going to be looked at closely by all the fans. Honestly, if i knew this game was going to be the best gaming expierience related to batman titles i'd wait until qtr 4. Lets just hope we all feel satisfied when all is said & done.
