So, we know that he deliberately set fire to a sane prison in Gotham to have the inmates transferred to Arkham. There has to be a deeper meaning to this than, "Well, I need more guards to beat down Batman." This should be more than a typical "kill the Bat" storyline.

I believe it's the same as ever: kill everybody
But the bat stands in his way, so it shifts to kill batman

It was covered in a previous preview of the game that Joker's plan had something to do with a secret buried deep in the history of Arkham. The bombs in Gotham must only be a way to slow Batman down. But only time will tell us what plot twists lie ahead...

Interesting. I wonder if Batman actually leaves Arkham for a level or two to contend with the explosives in Gotham. Paul Dini stated that this game's storyline will have twists reminiscent of Bioshock.

I think the gameplay might be like kotar only a bit advanced. Like if you save a dude one way instead of another the whole game changes. Or if you upgrade a certain way the AI changes so you'll need to play diffrently

Is Bane's role in the story simply that Joker is trying to use the Venom to control him? Or perhaps Joker is going to use it on himself and Batman's final fight with Joker has him buffed up. That concept isn't new. In the TV show "The Batman," Joker gets a hold of the Venom and become massive.

Is anyone concerned that this game will become repetitive? Most of the previews that I've read have been highly positive, but some of them expressed concern that the simplistic nature of the combat would make the encounters too repetitive. Also, only two types of Challenge Rooms aren't very diverse. Many of them have also said that Batman swinging makes a bit of noise, and it's easy to shake off the henchmen.
Maybe it will improve?

Remember, the Joker's main motivation is always to cause more pain in some way, or to deliberately tear down people's hopes.
His plan is probably to lead up to something, give Batman hope by making him think that all he has to do is take down Joker and bring Arkham under control, and then make the reveal that Bats has been on the wrong trail the whole time, and that he's really planning something much more destructive or horrible... or, even better, Bats has been helping Joker the whole time without knowing it.
We'll end up thinking that Joker's plan is simple, and then it'll turn out that he's up to something much more malicious and deadly. Like unleashing Venom drugged madmen on the city, or spreading his mix of Venom and Joker Venom to the masses.
"But all those innocent people!"
"Some joke on them, eh? Think of it as the ultimate punchline!"

Thats what they have made it out 2 be.. I heard somewhere he has him locked up deep in arkham and is sucking all the venom outta him..I think a final fight with Joker buffed up on Venom would be an ace battel lol

From Paul Dini's interview it does seem this Joker does wish to ultimately kill Batman much like the TAS Joker did.

If this wasn't a videogame, I would speculate that Joker was going to kill him in the end... but since it IS a game, people would be rather upset they played 10 hours for batman to defeat joker when in fact Joker has the last laugh

LOL ever played the Resistance series on the PS3?
*SPOILERS AHEAD*
You play 2 games as Nathan Hale only for him to be turned into the thing he was fighting(the Chrimera) and to be shot in the head by Capella. The Resistance series is actually quiet good

Joker never wants to kill Batman, even if it looks like he does. Joker considers Batman his equal, which no one else can be.
This can a test to break the Batman physically and mentally. But then again it could lead to some main desire the Joker wants.

False.
Joker changes his ownself thru his "super insanity" where he recreates himself all the time. We've already heard from the writer of the story itself that this Joker does wish to kill Batman.

True, true.
Thanks for the info that the writers confirmed Joker wish to kill Batman in the game, I didn't know that.
But there has been many incarnations of the Joker from different writers. Each from the writer's perspective. So we will never know his true intentions because he's crazy and his insanity is even consider a super power.

i understand that the writers of this game choose to make the joker truly wish to kill the batman, but from my understanding of his character, he doesn't REALLY want batman to die, he just wants to watch him suffer and tell a few jokes while batman is bleeding just because it makes him smile just that little bit extra ;) (this is my opinion on the whole deal so don't flame me)
