Coastal Thailand - Remnants stuck

Hi I am not an accomplished gamer and have set the standard to EASY on game set up. I am in Coastal Thailand - Remnants and have climbed from the sea, crossed the pole and wall climbed to the grassy path to lead into the jungle. I have passed a head/statue ruin and arrived at a chasm with columns and a stream underneath with a temple over the far side. I cant seem to get across the columns and I am very frustrated. The walk through book I have said I needed to cross a spider pit with a grapple ring but I haven't found one! Oh help. I had fantastic help on this forum last time. Thank you.

You are playing the Wii version, correct? If so, no need to look for the spider pit because there isn't one. With the exception of certain areas, the level design is somewhat different from the PC/360/PS3 version, on which the strategy book was based. You would have passed it by now though, if you have reached the columns atop the stream.

What you have to do in this area is use the ledges and poles on the columns to climb down to ground level and then follow the watery valley until its far end to climb up on the other side.

I'd have to play the level to jog my memory about the columns platforming, but generally it's quite simple and there's only one way forward. If you need further guidance, let us know. :)

You are great - thank you for your help, I have now got down the colums and walked along the stream and climbed up the other bank. THere is a ruin and a thin branch over the stream together with a grapple position - all of which seem to get me absolutely no where! I think I enjoyed the first Tomb Raider game - at least I wasn't stumped this early on in the game. I must be really bad! Thank you for your help once again - any more would be gratefully received.

Hm, when you grapple across that gap to the other side, you should be able to climb some rocks to the right to walk on that tree branch to reach the front of the temple. :)

I hope you're having fun with the game. Despite its flaws, I had a good time with it. :thumb:

Thank you again for your help - I finally managed to climb up the wall and cross the branch etc. Then kill the tiger and walk around to the outside of the building - I went to cross to the side and fell right back down to the bottom of the stream! I could have cried - well I did! I think I might just open a bottle of wine next time before I even begin. Perhaps the XBOX version is easier to play. My laptop doesn't support the video card so I bought the Wii version and the suggested gameplay walkthrough only confuses me! I think I should probably stick to Tetris next time! Once again - thank you for your help. I am going to be playing this game for a long long long long long long time!

The Wii version is very different from the XBOX/PS3/PC versions!

But only use it when you get really stuck and can't find the way out (even after trying for a couple of days), because Tomb Raider is all about that. :D
