I installed Tomb Raider Anniversary about a year ago, with no problems. I hadn't play it for about six months until yesterday when I put the disc in and was told that it wasn't installed. I reinstalled it and the normal box comes up with the options to Play, Setup, ReadMe etc. I click any one of the options and the box closes and my computer starts to make the noise it normally does when something is about to start up but then the noise fades and nothing happens :/

I have restarted my computer and I have tried to uninstall it but it won't uninstall. Does anyone know what the problem is and how I can solve it?

Thanks so much :)

So at the moment is your priority uninstalling it, or running it?

When you do start the game, after waiting a while does it come up with an error message telling you that the CD-ROM is not the 'original' CD (or something along those lines..), or does it just 'hang'?
Download process explorer (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896653.aspx), (it's like the "Processes" tab in the Task Managar, but clearer). Does tra.exe stay there after clicking "run" on the startup box? (if you understand what I am getting at..)

Uninstalling it.. How have you tried to uninstall, and how has it 'not worked'?

My priority is running it. The reason I tried to uninstall it is because I thought it might help if I cleared it and tried reinstalling.

No error message comes up. The startup box just closes and nothing happens.

I have gone into the Control Panel and into Uninstall or Change a Program and uninstalled it from there. It is now removed from the list but when I restarted my computer and opened Tomb Raider up, it still claims to be installed.

When I reinstalled the game the first time, a few days ago, right at the very end of the installation the loading bar stopped moving. I left it for hours but nothing happened so I closed it and presumed I would just have to install it again, but it claimed to be already installed. Maybe that has something to do with the fact it won't open?

Thanks so much for the help.

have u been into the control panel and been to add/remove programs and removed it prprly and then reinstalled it? (make sure you don't delete ur profiles or saved games, back them up! before you start messing around with that)
also what Operating System have you got? Vista has a tenancy to be useless
Have you got windows live messenger plus? as that messed around with some of my games and when I uninstalled it everything was running properly
Firewalls can stop things from loading... Norton and vista go well together in the useless pile.
