I think a possible cause for mapmaker loading crashes might be putting too many game logic triggers etc in the same tile. It happened to me last night and I only had three corridor tiles tacked onto the end of each other but I had two game logic triggers on one of the tiles. I might be wrong but it's worth investigating if you're having problems.
