I just hit the Midgard Serpent glitch at the start where the ramp isn't raised. Do you have to redo the entire level from the start of Mexico to avoid this glitch?

Regardless, I'm extremely disappointed with the amount of appearent bugs in this game. I doubt I'll hit anymore since I've put the game down until some sort of patch is released correcting these errors.

When I started playing this game, there were a few minor annoyances. Some camera problems, frequent control problems which just made me sigh and think how sad it was this game was just rushed out the door to make a quick buck instead of giving it the polish it deserved. I didn't expect to be unable to finish the game because there were game breaking glitches within it.

As customers (like everyone else on this board), we spend our money on these games because we something to enjoy. We have faith in the developer to deliver us an enjoyable experience. Releasing an incomplete game just to make money is just a slap across the face to everyone who purchased the game. This game needed at least another 2 months of developement (that's being generous) before it would have been acceptable for a release.

Even worse, there doesn't seem to be a patch yet fixing these errors as a quick scan across this board and many others show countless people still experiencing problems. Instead of releasing a patch to fix this incomplete game, they create downloadable content, to further get money out of us. It's a pity, because honestly, I was having a blast until I hit this glitch. It reminded me why I enjoyed the first game on the Saturn over a decade ago. Now the chances of me (and I hope others who have been effected by these glitches) of buying the downloadable content are slim to none. How am I supposed to further my gaming experience when I couldn't even complete it to begin with?

This has probably been said by many before or will probably get locked/deleted, but my frustrations with this game are something I need to express. I've never been burned by a game like this before and it stinks. Hopefully Eidos does something to repay the fans they let down by releasing this travesty upon the gaming public. And no, I don't think free downloadable content of useless game add on's is an acceptable apology. Give us a reason to want to spend our money on your games again.

I really doubt any of this was Crystal Dynamic's fault; of course they would want to release the best game they could. Unfortunately, Eidos pushed this one out of the door against their will, and now Crystal Dynamic has to suffer for it.

I truly want another Tomb Raider game, but I do not want to see it released until it has been perfected. By releasing something with this many problems just shows that Eidos has no integrity. Please don't let me see Tomb Raider on the shelf again until it is ready, not because the holidays are approaching and it would be the perfect time to cash in.

Thanks for reading if anyone did and I'm sorry to bore you with such whining. I just needed to express my disappointment.

I'd doubt this thread will get locked or deleted. (Technical Forum I would associate more with "I've got a problem, help" more than whining, which I'd put in "TR:U's General Discussion", but it is about bugs).

The point is yes, you have to reload from a save previous to that point. I think the disappointed customer was saying about how it shouldn't have to be that way; the game should be fairly free of bugs, and nothing quite so large. I think that Thailand/Mexico are the worst levels for bugs, so you should be in the clear after them. (I didn't encounter anything major through my playthrough). I think what this particular disappointed customer was saying was that the game should've been delayed a couple of months (or less) to fix these bugs, rather than have a game experience ruined by them. Which would be ideal, were it not quite for the timing. I'd think Eidos would be looking at the Christmas period of things to sell a lot of games then, and a couple of months would leave them with a fairly dull time to sell games, etc. and they would not get as many sales as they would have liked.

Could have also kept it back a few months to keep the cut stuff in like BTA and LS! Eric did say that the DLC was made from the cut stuff of TRU!

Have you heard of DNF? They released TR:U how they released it. The best hope from delaying a couple of months would be to fix the bugs, not to add extra content. Fixing the bugs is far more important than any possible levels could be, that's why the hope for no premature release was suggested. :)

Holding it off would not have been a bad idea. I understand a lot of games these days are rushed for Christmas, as they believe that's the best time to sell, but many games get lost in the shuffle. And releasing a bugged game would definitely not help their cause. Had they waited, the game would have been better received by critics. That's not saying that reviews matter in the grand scheme of things much, but it would have definitely sold a substantial amount more for those who actually do pay attention to reviews.

And yes, I only posted this here because of the bug. Also, I really was enjoying the game, it's just the technical issues that killed it for me. I might as well direct my complaint to the area where it might actually be paid attention to.

It's a shame that a few bugs were able to ruin the game for you. Once you get past them, it's a pretty awesome game. Better received by critics? I would not think so. While the bugs do not add to the game, when I hear people complain about the game the really "good stuff" isn't about the bugs, but about other aspects that could, and should have been done better.
Perhaps this thread (http://forums.eidosgames.com/showthread.php?t=82905) might be a place to say about your concern for the bugs...

Does anybody have a screen shot of the bug? I'm stuck but I'm not sure If I've actually encountered the bug or not. I'm just lost. After I found the jaguar head I got out of the building and killed some bad guys and panthers ON FOOT. I don't know where I left the motorcycle and I don't know where to go from here! I'm playing on the 360.

I actually didnt experience many bugs. The most annoying one (im playing on PC) is that when i use "interact" to move faster over the edges Lara always returns where she was, so i need to release "interact" button and then she goes over the edge normally.

Even though I didn't encounter any of the big game-breaking bugs myself, I was still quite disappointed by all the minor bugs and annoyances with the save games, especially because it's such a great addition to the series (I'm something of a purist, I only really like the first one, the remake, Legend and Underworld). What really disappoints me, however, is the fact that there's all this downloadable content coming out while there's still plenty of bugs and annoyances to be fixed. And the fact that all this downloadable content is limited to the X-Box, which to me is like being spat in the face, seeing as I own every installment of the game on the PC.

But I've already mentioned all of this in another thread.
