TRU on PS3 is so buggy that I am SO hoping that it is really just like Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, that is, a sort of shortened cut down beta version for public testing, and that sometime later this year (say, April 2009) Eidos and CD are going to start selling us the REAL NextGen Tombraider game (the one they've been keeping completely secret as a nice surprise for us, which will be four times as long in playing time as this one (like the good old days of 1stGen TR games) and everything will work properly with no glitches, AND it will look even better and more realistic ALL the time, not just some of the time.
'Cos this one is sort of disappointing, and I don't want to have to wait another two or three years for the next one (which would probably have to be NEXTNEXTGEN by that time anyway, for PS4 or something) and probably be just as full of bugs. See what I mean? - I get the feeling that CD are not exactly keeping up with the platform technology. They've sold us this dog and it clearly doesn't work properly. They're out of their depth.

Yo buddy!!
Theres a thread of you to complain bout the bugs and problems.:thumb:

Edit: Dude don't be so negative, AOD was full of glitches and its been 5 years since that game and CD has managed to produce some really good TR games, so don't assume the next game just because one game is bad.

It's not like theyy're gonna sy in the next 3 years "right the next TR has to have triple the amount of bugs as the last one".
And what bugs did you encounter that your so disappointed??

I played the game all to the end on PS3 and not even once ran into one of all the glitches discussed here. Maybe I just got lucky but also wonder how that can be.
What could be the big difference.
Anyone?

 Yes I'm sick of people whining too:rolleyes: . Well, I must be one of the luck ones because I found ZERO glitches and bugs. (excluding her getting stuck in the ground sometimes;) )

Well okay, maybe I'm too critical. Apologies. And it's not like I play a lot of games, I don't, so I'm not a credible authority on this stuff.
But TRU IS short, you must admit. And yes, I know ya can't have good graphics AND a long game.
Bottom line (and a more positive way of putting it), I'm actually enjoying TRU so much that I hope I don't have to wait two years for the next one. Or even a year. Or even six months.
And I hope it has no glitches. TR1 had none (apart from the corner bug).
With TRU on PS3, to name but one prob, when the game reloads, it's like a box of chocolates, you never know quite what you're gonna get - It's almost never where I saved it, and sometimes the bad guys I already killed are alive again, and sometimes they aren't, and sometimes some of them aren't. TR's 1-5 were rock solid in this respect. WYSWWYG (what you saved was what you got, on a saved game reload). It made planning one's day a lot easier.

Sorry for posting in the wrong forum.

I'll shut up now.

If you did play more games, you would discover that a lot of them are cheap. If you want to play some more games, play the older games, is the best thing to do. They are cheap, and last longer than modern games. (Also more challenging). Graphics are not as intense, so will run on most modern computers. There are often tricks to get around compatability, etc. issues.

Pacman has no glitches... it's also a very simple game. Same can be said of TR1. Up to TR5, it used the same engine, with little variance, and that became painfully obvious. (So Core tried to update it with AoD, and failed).
Most games out there have glitches of some kind, it's unforunate for both the PS3, and TR:U, that both this genre, and this game have bugs that are easy enough to find.

TR:U uses a checkpoint system as done in TR:L and TR:A. It's not random. When Lara crosses a checkpoint she has the opportunity to "save" there, and things are kept as they were. There are cases when only 'some' enemies will come back. e.g. in Croft Manor, 2 enemies appear at the checkpoint, but on subsequent reloads only 1 is present. I can only assume this is to make the game "easier", if you died fighting 2 then you will have a chance fighting 1.

TR1-5 (and 6, but 6 is special) had the "save anywhere" system which is probably more traditional, and although still common in games checkpoint systems are becoming more popular. "Save anywhere" saves the current state of things, probably what you were expecting.

I'll shut up now.

You needn't. Personally, although I hate people bashing on about stuff and how 'bad' it is, if it's kept in a "do this next time" sense it's not at all so horrible.
