I'm new to Tomb raider (Anniversary - on Wii) - and have come to a huge wooden door locked by two hanging stone bolts .... I can move one of them by jumping onto the counterweight on the left of the door - but I can't move the other (can't get access to a counterweight which is probably on the right hand side of the door somewhere?) :nut:

You veterans probably think I'm being thick, and there's much worse to come .... but if anyone can help I'd be grateful (already spent about 3 hours trying to crack it!).

Cheers
PB

Turn your back to the counterweight you have found and follow the hallway to the end, then use the swingpoles to reach the opposite side at the end of which you'll find the second counterweight to open the door. :)

Should you need more help, feel free to ask. You might want to use the Anniversary subforums (http://forums.eidosgames.com/forumdisplay.php?f=208) to do so though, eventually the mods will move this topic over there.

This one is hard to describe - and I may need to find some more land-marks for you ..... however - I'm still in Peru - in a green lucious valley surrounded by stone structures - I've killed a tyrano-saurus rex type monster, now lying with it's head smashed through a wall - and proceeded to swim through the pool inside that building, jump on some posts - climb round some walls - slip on some wooden slopes .... and end up back in the green valley behind the dead dinosaur.

I've been on this level for ages now, and gone around in many circles.

I have an un-used cog in my backpack and wonder if this should be used somewhere to help me get out of the general area .... is there something I'm missing?

If you can help - that's great, otherwise I'll look for more land marks / clues if that helps? :mad2:

i found it tricky to get out the valley too, if you follow the caves perfectly then you should end up in a slippery wall climb then you have to jump your way through into some caves and back into the waterfall room

Still can't get out of the valley described earlier - what is the waterfall room? It doesn't ring any bells for me.

When you say there's something in the light .... is that a mystic clue? I noticed a cave where a patch of it lights up when I approach it, but doesn't seem to reveal anything ... any more help available - it's really doing my head in and I'm determined not to give up / die of boredom in the same area!!

ohh no... "theres something in the light" is my signiture its a line that young young lara says in TRL

the water fall room is the main room of level 3, the one where there is a gant water fall and a pool at the bottom

and if you cant get out of the valley you really, need to read or watch a walkthrough, its hard to describe what you should be doing

In the little temple where the T-Rex smashed his head into (and is now dead in front of), you collected a cog and made your way to some platforms above the valley, right? If you made your way to the area where you fought the raptors, you're halfway there - instead of going back to ground level, find your way to the broken bridge, jump over the gap, use the ledges on the wall to get up to a slide, then negotiate your way past the swing poles and stuff. You will end up in a narrow cave which is just like the one that brought you to the valley, but this one will be your way out and back to the huge waterfall area. :)
