stuck at tomb of qualopec

hi. i am new to this game and using a wii.
At the room where the artifact 2 is hidden i climb the vertical pole and try to jump to grap the ledge above the switch.but it never works.
checked some walktroughs but they only say to jump. when i jump i either fell down and die or slide thorough the switch rack.

can anyone show me how to pass this level?

All walkthrough mention to climb to top and then jump, which is wrong in fact. Lara can only jump and reach the edge if she is jumping from the middle of the vertical pole.
