View Full Version : Adding to the many needing help with TRU Mexico...

I have encountered many walkthroughs citing one of many glitches in the game. I find myself trapped at this point (I quote from this (http://www.tombraiders.net/stella/walks/TR8walk/11unnamed.html) source):

ROAD TO THE FIRST CALENDAR PUZZLE: Return to the motorcycle and get on. With the temple behind Lara, head to the left along the dirt road. (Going to the right leads back to the beginning of the level.)

Drive forward, weaving around between several low stone walls. As you start to round the corner at the edge of the ruins, another panther comes out of the bushes. You can try and run it over with the motorcycle, but there's not a lot of room to maneuver here. So, if necessary, shoot it while driving or get off the bike and deal with it.

When it's dead, continue around the edge of the ruins to a flight of stairs leading down into a manmade tunnel. If you like, you can dismount here to collect a few treasures. The first treasure (5/50) is in a breakable jar just to the right of the top of the stairs. When facing the stairs, turn left and you'll see another clay jar containing a treasure (6/50) in a corner just ahead. From that spot, turn around and look ahead and to the right to find a third jar with yet another a treasure (7/50). (These screenshots show the locations of the three secrets.)

Get back on the bike and drive down the stairs and through the tunnel. (NOTE: The motorcycle headlight control is the same as the key for the utility light.) After you emerge on the other side, the track twists and turns through the undergrowth but doesn't split until the next set of ruins is in sight. Here you'll see another path leading off to the left. Head to the right here. DO NOT GO TO THE LEFT.

And what is my problem?

Because I hadn't read any walkthroughs before playing this level (or for any other parts of the game I had played to this point) I went to the left.

I play on the Wii platform (I know the walkthrough I quoted from above is not designed for the Wii platform, but it gives you an idea of where I am, at any rate). Is there any way to fix this problem (ie. in game solutions, a way to start the level over on it's own), or am I stuck going back and restarting the game from the beginning?

Thank you very much in advance for any assistance!

It is hard to follow your question. The Wii is very different than the 360. I have completed TRU on the Wii and I think the bug your are referring to is a 360 issue, not a Wii issue. On the Wii I do not think it matters which of the two calendar puzzles you do first. If you need more specific help let me know.

Okay.

The only problem I have is that I am having trouble completing the second calendar puzzle. The first one was very straightforward. The second has two of the middle blacked out (I believe this calendar is just off of the ball court). The hints I am given are that I must turn both the inner and outer dials and line up the days, but I have no idea how to do that. That is the part I need assistance with.

I hope this is a clearer indication of where I need help!

Hey!

I am not a Wii-player, but on the other versions you need artifacts to align the calendars. You need a Jaguar Head for the first and a Golden Skull for the second. Have you placed those artifacts in the calendars? Otherwise it won't work.

There is a Wii walkthrough out there, let me find it for you.........:gamer:

As I recall the puzzle you are at will require you to put the jag head on the center post and use the center post to line up the two outside circles. Then, on the outer edge of the puzzle is a skull looking head that you can move. This lets you line up the two inside circles. Move the skull back, and use the center post to finish the outside two circles.

Thank you both for your help! I'll study these walkthroughs and see what it is that I'm missing. :)
