Hello:

Usually when I am in a new level, I am scared so I carefully walk around with guns in my
hands ready to shoot at anything that moves. I know of some who will just walk around, die, and then know better next time. I never did like that manner of exploration.

So what is your strategy in Underworld?

Hehe, I used to do that when I first started playing TR... Nowadays I still tread carefully, as it were, and sometimes I still jump when I'm caught off guard, but generally I just forge ahead.

If I come upon an enemy I like to keep my distance which is really difficult - I sprint a ways off then I do a series of jumps and rolls to keep moving.

I drew my guns throughout TR:U, once I'd reached Thailand. This was because of the 'swarm' enemies (spiders, bats, etc.) that came out of nowhere. Once they showed up, fired and killed them until it was clear, then progressed to the next area.

Once I encounter a larger enemy, I do not retreat to a safer location because games like TR:U do not demand that in the gameplay.
Mexico(->Xibalba) level was probably the scariest level in the game, but even then it wasn't so bad.

(BTW, this reminds me of a thread I'd created (http://forums.eidosgames.com/showthread.php?t=78138) a while ago. I was intending to create one like this for TR:U...)

That's my strategy too and it works best. I find when I play it a second/third time I get way too brave and think I know it all by then and easily get killed and misjudge jumps and
pickups. First play is always my smartest. :D

I always keep running, no weapons drawn. I like to be surprised..........
But sometimes I walk, when avoiding traps etc.

The last tiger in Thailand totally caught me off guard!

Hello:

Personally, I don't take any chances and that's why I have the guns ready. Maybe next time around I'll not use the guns.

Well, Lara has her dual pistols for a reason, always best to make use of them
If it weren't lock on aim, (if Lara didn't target the enemies herself), I might not go through all new areas "weapons drawn". (I would be on the lookout for enemies, though).

I always have my guns drawn when I'm playing the first time so I'm ready if someone is tryin to kill me ;)
The second time I'm a bit more off guard and only have my guns ready were I know there will be enemys
Sorry for some grammar mistakes xD

The Wii version does not have the swarm enemies or the massive spiders but when I play, one thing is crucial - Listening.

You can normally hear an enemy who would pose a threat before you would see them, this is my cue to draw weapons.

Also, corridors are rat-runs to funnel you into a confined space, I find that drawing your weapons and getting into a position of strafing as opposed to not facing the new corridor and continuing to look and travel in the direction you were traveling previously, very useful.

Ambush attacks/traps are not really in these games anymore - this was something CORE were really good at, making the gameplay trigger a reaction - I suppose the environments are nice but they are no real substitute for Gameplay!

Totally :)

That's the reason I don't run around the entire game with my weapons drawn. I must admit I did that sometimes in the CORE games.............
