at 1:10, like 1minute and 10 seconds into it or is it some sort of pc location code? I have the 360 version so does it apply to me if not than what is this short cut is it cool?

I'm pretty sure "1:10" means "1 minute and 10 seconds", through the video which, I guess, was supposed to be linked to. We never got a link, and so now this thread is pointless.

You mean that the prologue is actually the whole level? If that's the case you can skip 3 level... That is.. half of the game!!

Yep, that's what this guy did. He skipped the Med, Thailand and Croft Manor.

At 1:08 there's a weird video glitch or maybe video edit; I think someone has just edited two similar video clips together to make it seem like a shortcut... ^.~

For the purpose of speed running (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Speed_run).

It's a tricky jump to do. I would guess that it's possible to do in the prologue level. There's a tricky jump in Ghana where you can skip about half of the level.

The trick is not easy, so the guy probably saved the game before attempting it and then edited it out.

It doesn't work at all. I'm 98% certain that that 'jump' in the video is where he was playing FROM the Croft Manor level, not the prologue.

Then try it on the Croft Manor level and see if it works, lol... and what do you even mean by "doesn't work"? The swan dive jump or landing behind the glass during Prologue? If you managed to get behind the glass than ok, it might be a fake (although I doubt it cause if you look at the guys channel he's got a lot of speedruns and I can see no reason for him to start cheating all of a sudden). But if the jump doesn't work for you it proves nothing. The thing is, shortcuts like that are often very difficult and/or only work with a certain framerate, so unless you want to try to pull it off for tens of times like speedrunners do, the only way to disprove is to use the flycheat.

BTW check out MMAN2's Legend speedrun (http://speeddemosarchive.com/TombRaiderLegend.html), he also uses tricks that you would probably deem cheating at first. And yeah shortcuts like that are often only executable on the PC version.

no...the soundtrack in her room can only be listened in the prologue...not in the normal level..

Clearly, I can't prove that he didn't do it. But the video was edited and there's nothing to say what went on in the edit. Believe it if you want, but I don't buy it.

Yeah it's hard to define if it's a glitch, I think he makes the jump from the air so I guess it is...
There are many types of speedruns so I think that skipping levels is ok.

Another great shortcut using the swan dive :) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9iXGbkV5sIk&) this time the guy is skipping most of Valhalla. It starts around 0:50.

I've seen one (and I actually accidently encountered it before I saw the video about it) in TRA where in the Obelisk of Khamoon if you fall and die in the first room it leads you to Croft Manor, so I do believe that it may be possible; it's just that the video you've linked to in the first post has a weird "skip" which makes it look a like it's been edited to make it seem like it works.

I know you said he/she might have took out the footage were they are saving the game, but it would have been more authentic if they kept that footage in.

Sorry, but I still find that video a bit fishy. :o

I like the second video though, it's a great way to skip the dreaded hammers of doom in Valhalla. :)

lihanna, if you check out MMAN2's Legend speedrun (which starts here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZPcx3Cg0TEY&feature=channel_page)) and Riku's individual level TRA speedrun (for example St Francis Folly in 14:25 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1WjPUdeNKMQ&feature=channel_page) or Sanctuary of the Scion in 6:06 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ps-s5mE_lsk&feature=channel_page)), Storm's run (the first video) will seem much more credible to you I think ;) The tricks speedrunners use are often very surprising and just leave you saying "what the hell, how did he do that?"
BTW the shortcut works, the only thing that's left unclear is whether he actually skipped 3 levels or just one cutscene, IMHO it's just bad editing on Storm's side. He's speedrun whole TRU by now and actually did the same kind of edit in some other levels.

Seriously, though. How did he do that swan dive? I'm sitting here on my boat, looking at the amazing water graphics on my PS3, and I finally get up the nerve to go say hi to the sharks. Lara walks to the edge of the boat. I take a deep breath. I make sure that my speargun is equipped. I edge a little closer, close my eyes, and make a very ungainly jump into the water.

And I think, "That was unimpressive." :p

I hate the water parts of the levels, but still, it'd be nice to know how to enter gracefully! Xp

Doing the swan dive is very easy :)
You need to press jump and then quickly crouch (or press them together - see which works better for you).
I don't know how to do that "delayed swandive" though.
