you need to use the grapple on the ring to lower yourself to the floor at the base of the column with the stone on top. From there climb up the opposite side of the room so your now across from were you started. grapple the ring and walk Lara so the line presses against the rock. now pull on the grapple line as you would to pull things towards you. This will cause the stone to fall through the floor at the base of the column, allowing you to retrieve the skull for the second calender.

It's much easier than Resy describes it - you just grapple the ring, go to the right as much as you can and press action.
