Is this the end?

Hi!

I'm a huge Tomb Raider fan since I was 10, and I'm very worried about something.

The problem is:
Is "Tomb Raider: Underworld" the last one till now?

Crystal wants to develop LoK again, making us wait for a long time?

I bought an XboX360 to finish Tomb Raider series, and I would be sad if someday I should buy another new console (or refix my pc) only for playing a new Tomb Raider.

By the way, I'm sorry for my being bad at speaking your language, but I'm italian ^^

If EA/Ubisoft get their hands on this series then yes it WILL be the end. But as of right now, Underworld won't be the last TR game, so no worries and I'd actually like another LoK game to be honest :D

And don´t be worried everyone thinks that Underworld will be the last Tomb Raider probably because they can´t imagine better graphics (every Tomb raider game has lot better graphics then the game before) at least this is my way of thinking!:D

Another Legacy of Kain game would be good for the LoK fans, they deserve a new game too right? (and I would try it too, I have never played a LoK game before........)

Personally, I hope they take their time for the next TR game. I don't mind if they release it in 2010 or 2011, even 2012 (although I would suffer from some serious abstinence/withdrawal symptoms by then :nut: ), as long as it's good, bug-free and not rushed ;)

As I've heard others argue in other threads, Crystal worked hard building a new game engine from scratch. If they stop making TR right now then it would almost be a waste for them to have made a new engine. Plus Underworld has been well received so it seems like a bad time to stop since there will obviously be money to be earned from another game. Hopefully my rambling makes sense.

I've heard that CD want ot develop the LOK series for a bit again too. Personally i think that ist's a good Idea, for 4 years now all CD has focused on since TR was offered to them id TR. They have other games that they are famous for deving too. Plus a break from TR is probably a good thing CD have done 4 years of virtually nothing but TR, We all know wahat happened when Core did nothign but TR for 4 years and we don't want that same dissellusion to happen to CD

I haven't played LoK, though might be interested in a new game (just because it's CD, I guess).
CD have two dev teams, I hear, so it would be possible to make 1 TR and 1 LoK game at the same time...

EDIT: Haha, the LoK forums would be active with TR fans :P

I say focus on LoK at the moment just because they've done ALOT of TR lately :p

EA makes good games IMO. (Sims 2 is an exception...)

i know that underworld wasnt the last tomb raider
cuz i read her journal in underworld

there was a part that i cant remember but it said something like lara knows how her parents died now so she canmove on from that subject to something different.

it also says that lara believes that when her mother entered helheim thralls took her and put her in that pool where lara found the thrall of her mother but lara did kill her mother
cuz lara kills the thrall of her and that poison stuff is the venom of the midguard serpent

and the venom is used to turn things into thralls so lara's mother got turned into a thrall and lara killed her

I highly doubt, that Underworld will be the last TR game :)
It seems like they've just finished the mother-story and are coming up with something new (hopefully). Welcome to the forums by the way ;)

As long as the games sell they will keep making them.
It's a lot more of a sure thing to continue the series then to come up with something totally new and take a chance that it won't sell.

I don't know what the sales figures are but most of the TR games have sold well and over an extended time span.

Plus Tomb Raider is a real classic, it was the first true 3D game that I know of.
I remember when TR1 came out, I just couldn't stop playing, once I was able to get it to run. It wasn't that easy in those days.

As long as they make them I will buy them.

Firstly a warm welcome to you , Listen , Underworld is not going to be the last Tomb Raider , there will more Tomb Raider game in future, so don't worry just relax and play TRU:thumbsup:

My source is ebgames... I got told this when Legend was first released so i just hope its still true. Cause ive been a fan of TR since game 2!!

Umm I think the third game was actually ment to come first and I think it was; Tomb Raider Anniversary...

Thank you. We have been waiting since 2004 after all. And the ending of Defiance (last LoK game) felt less resolved than TRU to me. I kept checking for the next LoK game, but then I saw CD was making Legend. That's what sparked my interest in Tomb Raider again after a long hiatus after TR2.

late 2010: Tomb Raider - No, My Collection Is NOT Complete

I hear CD have two dev teams... If there's a game to be released 2009 it's probably better that the project started in 2007, just so they get 2 years to make it; although with the TR:U engine they'd be able to make a decent game fairly quickly, wouldn't they?
I'm no LoK fan, but it would be nice if they got another game. (Then most new TR fans would play LoK...)

though TRU didnt get exemplary reviews, i don't think this is the end of it by far. what i think they SHOULD do, is TAKE TIME. TRU was waaaay too rushed.
