Do you have any tip for Anniversary Time Trials?
Have you find a shortcut?
Then, please, post it in here, so we can share our tips.
Actually, I'm trying to beat Tomb of Tihocan time trial and I need shortcuts..
I can kill centaurs in less than 2 minutes, but Cistern takes all my
precious time..
If you have a tip, I'd happily hear it.
Please, don't forget to mention the version you play.
Some tips may work on a PS, but not on a pc.

Well, you can watch many vids for shortcuts on YouTube. And some levels can be completed in a few minutes with the flyglitch (like the Lost Valley).

For the Lost Valley, there are two ways:
1. Do the glitch on the first broken stairs at the very beginning of the level and roll your way through the waterfall. I have tried this but failed.

2. Go all the way to the top of the waterfall, do the glitch there and go to the wooden ledge at the other side (near the switches), where you can get 'higher' by just walking towards it, then go to the switch and turn off the waterfall. This method works perfectly.

Oh, I found (not by myself) an amazing way for Tomb of Tihocan time trial!!!
(And I did it in ten minutes for the first time!)
Do not drop the two boxes to the middle floor. Drop the first one and use the ladder which is on the left of that box, to go the middle level. Kill the alligator and drop the box in the pool. Drain the pool. Go to the lower floor of Cistern, kill the one alligator and use the second one for the one pressure pad!.
(I thought it was a joke, but I did it and it worked). It worked for the pressure pad which opens the gate where the wooden platform is. Just step on it and wait for the alligator to come and let it bite you. After the bite, go away and the alligator will not move and stay on the pressure pad. Use the box for the other pressure pad and you 're done!!! :)
Well, I found a video of a guy who used both alligators and did it without any of the boxes, but that didn't work for me (PC). My alligators don't stay on the pressure pad that opens the gate to the middle level and I couldn't put the wooden platform in the right place. After that... Centaurs was a piece of cake! I had 5 whole minutes to go to the next area and defeat them! :)
I guess you all know the shortcut for going from the lower level of Cistern to the middle level. Use the descent/downslope (I don't know the correct word) stone, on the right of the alcone you have to go. Just jump on the slope and jump quickly again , to land on the alcone.

I find the easiest way to do the time trials is to play the cheats off each other.
In playing Peru time trials, you get all the weapons and a decent amount of ammo for each = makes Peru time trials easier. Completing all the peru Time Trials gives infinite .50 cal pistol ammo.
Once you have that cheat, Atlantis Island levels are easy enough to complete in time trial mode. (Natla's mines can be a joke with the .50 cal cheat, and Final Battle with .50 cal is a lot easier. Great pyramid is a challenge, perhaps).
Atlantis cheats of the Golden Shotgun and Silver SMGs. (These take all the challenge out of combat).
Egypt is next easiest after that, it grants Infinite health, which makes Greece easier.

Did you do it?
I did it, it's very easy. I just died and then I woke up
in Croft Manor! But I couldn't go back in Egypt again...
I was jumping/rolling/swan diving to the wall for 5 minutes
and then I gave up... :(

I kept tumbling backwards through the door (with the guns drawn of course) and eventually it worked! Wow, that must be my new Obelisk of Khamoon record! :lol:
The time-trial for that level is so hard, especially that part with the timed pole and that bloody wall-jump, I keep falling down :mad2: :mad2:

No it's not the air walk gitch!

The person used the guns to flip to the side and to the back (to finish the level as fast as he/she could and to get through the door). So you don't have to use the air walk glitch at all to do this!

Okay, I just tried this method for the time trial in Obelisk level and I did manage it (not as quick as the player in the video) but the time still doesn't register in the menu. :(. I guess it would still work for the time trial in the Manor though.

EDIT: scratch that, it worked this time. :)

I couldn't get the bug with the Obelisk of Khamoon to work on the PSP version. (This may be because it stores the Manor save separately from the game saves).

The bug to get through the wall of CM's "final door" works on both PC and PSP versions, though.

It turns out that the TRAir glitch also works in Legend. :D Although don't go too high, then activate a checkpoint and then die, or you're pretty much stuck there. :lol:

I cannot get the air-walking glitch to work (on my version) :( (but when you get your hands on TR:U, see if it works there...)

I completely forgot until just now to check it out on TRU. :D

Because it's a completely different system with different controls and animations and such, the TRAir glitch does not work. :(

In this video here there is a tricky jump done from the middle of the air, I would think it is related. The issue is more a result of the system of movement used by CD-TR, the same style of platforming/movement (like the corner bug of Core's grid-system).

Also if you want to move alot faster, keep doing swandives, they cover more distance in the given time than the regular jog. Also, use a shotgun to kill the beasts and such, it kills them alot faster than the duel guns ;)

Oooww, The Great Pyramid time trial, I never got that one. It is too hard for me. I keep dying during the shaft-climbing part (Lara shoots the red target instead of the flying mutant --> mutant throws a firebolt at Lara --> Lara falls off the ledge --> :mad2: :mad2:/ Lara doesn't do what you want her to do --> she falls in the lava --> she dies --> checkpoint reload --> mutants are back --> :mad2: :mad2: ), you get the picture right?

I don't have any tips for you Ola :(

If you have completed every other time trial, then you should have the infinite health cheat, as well as infinite ammo for the .50 cal pistols, which I find to be the most powerful gun in the game. Replay the level over and over again on hard difficulty (I think TT is run on hard, although I've heard it's medium), until you can do it within the time limit. The two hardest rooms will probably be the vertical shaft, and the final room with the two switches. (I find them to be the hardest, anyway). Learn how to switch targets easily, or where to have the camera so you do not have to shoot unnecessary things (such as the targets on the wall, or the Doppleganger).

@rg_001100, I can switch targets easily, I have no problem with Doppelganger, as for the last area.. I never got there! :mad2:
The vertical shaft is my problem.. It's not that I fall down, but I can't do these jumps correctly and in time..
Anyway, I will try these shortcuts and I also will try not to kill the mutants, evethough I think ths will be a disauster (I think this word has a different spelling :rolleyes: )!

I also discovered that Lara wakes up in Croft Manor, if you drown her

That's okay Ola, thanks. I cheated by downloading the 100% game from TombraiderHub. :p

My saves got 'corrupted' or something and then I had to start all over again. :mad2:
But I needed the Sports outfit for a modding, so I decided to download the file and now I have the Golden Shotgun as well. :D

Also in the Final Conflict two lava rooms part, you can either 'walk' up the side of the entrance to get to the 4th moving door/button which I also found by accident after being completely baffled - my grapple was not working on that ring! (PS2)

Oh! It's been awhile.

I was playing TRA about 10 minutes ago and then I just found a very interesting shortcut for the Temple of Khamoon level. Using this you can go from this level straight to the final Egypt level in about five minutes tops, if you are a good user of the Air glitch.

Ok, so make your way to the big room with the sphinxes and such (if you use the air glitch to get there you'll be even faster). Take care of the two cat mummies, then make your way onto the first sphinx (the one in shade). Use the platform behind it to get into the air again, and then run into the obelisk in the middle until Lara can go no higher. Then, walk through the air and into the wall to the right of the sphinx in shade (when looking at it) so that Lara will walk through it and off the game map. Head over the little room where the panther was and look down, and you should see a strange pink and green shape with four objects on it. After staring at it for awhile I've decided that it is a giant lillypad with flowers. :lol: Allow Lara to fall onto this shape, and she will land on it. Then you can pick up the four objects, which are the four keys for the obelisk you find in the next Egypt level. Jump off the platform and back into the game grid, put the keys in and the door will open, ending the level. If you're playing through for the first time, the game allows you to begin the third Egypt level from there.

I don't know if anyone has found this one yet. It allowed me to finish the time trial in under five minutes. Give it a shot, it's really awesome. :thumb:
