I've taken out the Kraken, found the gauntlet and had it taken, and now I find myself at the top of the room where the Kraken once lived.

Way, way above the switch and the door it opened (once guarded by the Kraken) is an open room containing clay pots in a corner.

How do I get to this room?

I believe there is a place with a T you need to get there I believe.

If you're at the top of the kraken room, and the room you mean is to the left, look for a crevice where you can wall jump up to that room.

This room conatains a treasure, so if you're not too bothered about collecting them it isn't essential that you go there.

Figured it out.

I forgot about wall jumping.

On either side of the center door switch are alcoves. Wall jump from side to side until Laura reaches the top.

Simple.

Duh.
