I think I have made a catastrophic error and I am a cat's whisker away away from finishing this game. I can't destroy the final buttress in the last level "Out of Time" and I think this may be because I have destroyed them in the wrong order. Don't ask me how I did it! I normally like to work game problems out myself no matter how long it takes, but in this case I have a horrible feeling something glitchy and bad has happened and I'd appreciate some advice.

Current save status:
*All blue blocks on bottom level pushed in
*"Easy" Buttress (lowest level - two blocks either side you can just clamber up to to destroy the blue jewel) - destroyed
*"Hard" Buttress (the one you have to climb up the central tower and slide down - destroyed.
At this point I got the mid point cut scene where A******** is tossed aside.

So basically I still need to reach the middle buttress to destroy the jewel (he tower with two intact dragons) but it seems all my paths are now closed due to what I have done already. Can anyone advice if there is another route up. Because all the blue blocks are now pushed in and can't be pulled out again my path to this jewel seems to be blocked. The whole middle layer of rotating blocks is missing because I haven't destroyed the middle buttress yet so I can't work my way up that way and I can't seem to access the higher grapple point (not the one embedded in the red floor).

Please tell me I am just being an idiot and I'm missing something really obvious.
Up until this I was absolutely loving the game.
Thanks to anyone who responds

So, as I got it, you have to be back to the central tower? In that case you can use a ring to grapple it and to climb up and use the stones to get close to the tower...:)

Thanks for the replies. To Indiana Croft, no, sorry to confuse. When I said "middle" I meant that if I'd done them in the correct order it would have been the "middle" buttress destroyed. I have already been in the central core section and destroyed the buttress you have to slide down, that was the second one I destroyed, but it should have been the final one. Is there any way to return to the second tier after all the blue blocks have been pushed in? They impede you from shimmying round the columns. The only way I can possibly see is to jump from the floating platform to the left hand side climbing wall of the column with only one intact dragonhead, but I don't know if that jump is makeable. I keep on missing it.

The mistake I made was not destroying the blue jewel on top of the two dragon tower before jumping across to the central section. Now all the blue blocks are pushed in I am finding it impossible to return to it.

Have managed it - I was just being stupid.

After all that, you don't say how you managed to overcome you stupidity and destroy the gem. TR often give you more than one way to solve a puzzle. Its what I like about the series. I do wish they would bring back the sidestep and belly crawl. :)

Yeah - what was it??? I've done "something stupid" too but I'm not smart enough to figure out what the stupid thing is that I've done:mad2:

I had the EXACT same problem!! I destroyed the first one, and pushed all of the blocks in but I had a super glitch happen and then I couldn't destroy the other 2! If you notice, there is a slope where the blocks break off after you destroy those round things with your hammer, and then they fly around the room. Well, you can slide down those slopes before you break the round things and it will get you to them. I know this is confusing, but it is what I did... This level took me almost 3 hours to finish because I kept doing something wrong.

Also, you can go on YouTube, they have a couple of videos of this level. I believe it's called Out of Time, so just search for "Tomb Raider Underworld Out of Time" and it should come up.

Thanks! Going to try it in about half an hour, so should be finished in about 3 hours:)

Thanx CherryxDarling  - had a quick peek and saw where I was going wrong - jumping to the wrong structure - managed to finish it on my own after that :D
