Jaguar Skull

Hi, I can't find the Jaguar skull for the second Mayan Calendar puzzle. (Xibalba)

The Jaguar head is just in the building in the beginning of the level :) You begin on the bike and drive a little on some dirty road then arrive to a maze of ruins and a little cutscene shows you the head and then it's up to you to get it :) Then you should go with the bike to the right side of the building and continue your way down :)

Thanks for your help, but I still can't find it at all. Lol. I know it's probably right under my nose.

EDIT: Okay, this is my bad. I'm actually looking for the outer stone plate for the second Mayan Calendar. Sorry. Haha.

If I remember correctly it is in the opposite direction of the entrance to the 'grounds' of the Mayan calendar site.

There are two ways to both calendar-machines. In the exact middle there's a passageway to the middle of the calendar; on the exact opposite direction of the stairs down to it (just rotate your bike 180 degrees) there's a 'tunnel' which leads to another site where a couple of bads guys are bothered by panthers and if you find it...
... by you as well....

If you don't find it right away drawn a little map of where you have gone; the scenery make it hard to make out directions while it's actually a really simple map.

Hi, I can't find the Jaguar skull for the second Mayan Calendar puzzle. (Xibalba)

Where is the first one?

For the calender, you will need 1 skull and 1 jaguar skull.

The jaguar skull is at the very beginning of the level. After the first cutscene in the level, get off the bike and head to the building. By climbing the columns, make your way to the point that you can jump to the wall of the building. You'll be on the right side. Proceed across the face of the building to the left and you'll find an opening you can climb into. In that room will be a ring attached to a pole wedged into the floor. Grapple it and drop back out the opening. Lara can repel from this and her weight will cause the pole to slide forward and open a door part way down the building face. From here you will need to wall run to the door to get in. The moment Lara's grapple releases from the ring/pole, the door will begin to close.

Its pretty simple, wall run and jump Lara into the open door. Now pick up the health, the artifact and the jaguar skull. To get out of the room, you will need to go to the right and jump from wall to wall prince of persia style to the top of the room. From there exit through the opening and prepare for your first fight with the wild life.

Get back on your bike and proceed to the first calender. Complete that calender before proceeding on.

For the second one you need the skull. When your path splits 3 ways, the right path leads to the base of the large calender room. The straight ahead path leads to the second calender and the left path leads to the skull required for the second calender. Proceed to the right and you'll have to abandon the bike for a bit. You'll end up at another temple thats a little larger then the one with the jaguar skull. This one has jaguars and mexican bandits in a battle so hang back and take out who ever wins. You remember Thailand with the pole you needed to jam into an opening on the wall? same here. There are broken columns in front of the temple. Scale them to get to the far right opening at the roof. Proceed inside and to the back of the temple. You'll find a block that appears loose on top of a column. and a ring nearby.

make your way across the room, turn back around and grapple the ring which is now on the other side of the room your on now. use Lara's position and the grapple line to make the block on top of the column fall and break through the floor below. (kinda just like Thailand) Make your way down into the newly opened hole, keeping in mind the rain has made most of the ledges slippery and you'll need to be careful.

Get the skull from the bottom and make your way back out of the pit and vault Lara through the semi open door back out into the main temple area. Watch out for more mexican bandits. Proceed back to the bike and head to the second calender.

Park your bike as close to the exit to the calender room as you can. Once activated, the opening to the underworld is timed. The quicker you get back to your bike and back to the calender room courtyard, the better.


You will notice once your past this point, that there is a lever and another missing jaguar skull. Ignore this as you won't find the skull and be back here until the end of the level.
