D-pad does not map

Hi, just installed Underworld demo and tried to map the buttons on my USB Gamepad.
All buttons respond except for the directional d-pad buttons. I tested the pad in control panel and it works fine. Please can anyone help. Thanks.

Which gamepad do you have?

I just tried on my gamepad, and it won't map the axes of the analog sticks (I'm not particularly concerned about that), but it will map the POV D-pad.

Its just a budget shop-brand gamepad I purchased from from Game about a year ago. Maybe I need to get a better one.
I am going to try changing the axis options to see if it works.

So long as it has dual analog sticks, it should work.
