TRU in PS2

im worried, cuz my console is ps2, and i didn't see any image of it in any sites, and when u click in pre-order tru in TR Portal, don't give the ps2 option do anyone knows if its really goin to the stores??

I'd check Buzz Monkey's (http://www.buzzmonkey.com) website as they are the ones actually making the PS2 and Wii versions.

However, Amazon.co.uk are offering pre-orders now and still say the release is the 21st November (UK).

I doubt a cancellation this late in the day is likely. From what I have hear Buzz monkey are having a lot of trouble with their encoding and with bugs etc so they keep having to push the release back and forth whilst they sort it out.

What nonsense are you talking? Core (the company) disbanded after the AoD debacle and most of the staff went to Rebellion. Eidos still owns the Core name, but the company doesn't exist any more.

As for the PS2 thing, the release date is still down as the 18th/21st Nov on the official Tomb Raider site.

Why do people keep freaking about erroneous dates given out by third parties? The official Tomb Raider site says the 18th/21st Nov for every version, why look anywhere else?

I use to be just like you...worrying about when there would be some type of Ps2 media surrounding TRU's released.
But I'm no longer that person, because I've decided to upgrade to current-gen.
I suggest everyone waiting for the Ps2 version to do the same.
The holiday season is comming up, it shouldn't be a total hassle to purchase an Xbox 360 or and Ps3.
I'm not saying the Ps2 will be a disaster, but it will not be up to status.
And if you want to play Lara lastest adventure the way it was truely designed, UPGRADE! :)

Not everybody can afford to upgrade to next (or current, which is indeed a better way to describe it) gen, so some of us have no other choice than hope the PS2 version will be released on the 21st of November like Eidos/CD keep telling us.

Only if you're ready to shell out 400€ to replace your PS2, which most PS2 users are obviously not willing to. Considering the 360 is now available at 140€, you can guess which next-gen system the PS2 users would potentially turn to in order to get Underworld on time. And I'm pretty sure that's the conclusion the Eidos marketing suits came to.

You seem to forget that those third parties are the ones you can actually buy the games from. The retailers don't care what the "official" release date is, according to Eidos. What matters is when they can put the games on their shelves.

And speaking about buying the game directly from Eidos... Have a look at the French Eidos Shop (http://eidoshop.fr/promos/tombrairderunderworld.htm). It's quite suspicious that the only version you can't preorder is the PS2 one ("available soon").

I am beginning to worry about the availability of the PS2 version. At TR Portal although it says in the chart at the bottom the release date for PS2 (being the same as all the other platform), if you click on other links for TR, like the Features, or Pre-Order, PS2 isn't there. It is confusing.

YOU were freaking out like you were about to explode with all these threads like "when is the ps2 version realesed?" Imagine that you DIDNT get a next-gen console, you will be ripping your eyeballs out complaining about the ps2 version taking so long to realese.
Also you dont have to go out and yell, UPGRADE. Just be a bit more considerate for people who either dont have the money for a next-gen console or does not want one.

OK - all bantering aside - I did check all of my local stores and online at Amazon, Gamestop, EBgames, etc (I know they are 3rd party) and they all do say that the PS2 won't be released until 1/1/09 (and some say 1/31/09) and I do realize that the TR site says 11/21/08. I could see why the user would be confused. I guess it's just best to check it out on that day.

Haven't you guys noticed the declining price of the Ps2 version of TRU?
It first started at like $49.99, then to went to $39.99, now to real low of $29.99.
$29.99 is really low for a NEW game, and I know I wouldn't be satisfied getting the Ps2 version, which by now we know is seeing delays and possible cuts.
You can go to GameStop to confirm the price cut.

As a respond to your post, I'm not going to put myself in that position if I don't have to be.
I'm upgrading, moving on, and no longer have to wonder what is going on with the development of the Ps2 version.
