Lets find all the secrets in the demo [SPOILERS]

Finding secrets in Tomb Raider is my favourite thing to do, fortunately in TR:U there seems to be tons of them (I've counted 13 so far).

I ran through the demo earlier today and took screenshots of all the secrets I've found so far. I probably missed a few out, so let me know if there are others.

Apologies for the quality, I'm playing on my laptop currently and compressed the images to make this thread load quicker.


This secret is found underwater at the beginning. Just keep swimming forwards and you should see it down to your left.

The next secret can be found by climbing up the cliff as you would normally, but instead of going left, there is actually a path to the right which you should follow instead.

At the part where you slide down the ramp and swing across a gap using a bar for the first time, there is a small ledge that you can drop down onto, which will eventually lead you to this secret:

You can see the secret in the screenshot. Just take a running jump. I can't see a better way of getting to it, or of getting back. Guess it's swan-dive time! Thanks to Wess~Gamer and Spong for alerting me to this one.

This secret is hidden in a jar at the part where you use the "chimney jump" for the first time.

After fighting the tigers and climbing onto the poles, there is a hidden alternative path that takes you to the other side and to a secret.

There is also a secret behind a wall in a jar where the tigers first attack you which I forgot about before >_<

After completing the jumps between the two "tiger zones", shimmy along to the right of the ledge that you ended up on and you will find this secret. Also, if you shimmy along to the platform to the left of the ledge there is a medi-cup.

You might have noticed this secret when entering the first tiger area. You can get to it after fighting the second set of tigers. Make your way up towards the entrance after killing the tigers, but make a jump to the left and follow the platform around. A series of awkward jumps and swings will take you to this secret. After collecting it you can jump up onto a ledge that is sticking out and then make your way back towards the entrance to the temple thing.

YAJS (Yet another jar secret). After grappling hooking and swinging across to the right side of the Shiva-temple there is a lone jar with a secret in.

There are also at least two more secrets to be found if you manage to glitch your way to the lower levels of the temple.

Sorry if my descriptions were a bit vague. I took the screenshots about three hours ago and had to remember how I got there.

You've forgot one on the beginning of the demo. where you have to jump from to get a secret (will take some of your health)
can't really explain it better. anyone has a screenshot?

I've just checked the demo walkthrough (had no idea I would check that one day :o ), and according to it there are supposed to be 11 so called treasures in the demo. So I guess we got them all now!

you can't do the puzzle because it's a demo and you need the full game to complete it.
al you can do is put the 2 arms down.
and btw: the top one is a guy. but I wouldn't think it either if I didn't know better :p

My best guess is that the crystals need to be inserted into Shiva's arms while they are lowered. I found a room with the second crystal behind the level, but I can't quite get into it due to lack of solid floors.

Uhhhh... there's a small waterfall behind the platform you use to exit the water if I remember correctly. Swim towards that and then go to the left and there's a kind of cave cut out of the cliff. Swim down and the secret is there.

Actually you can jump back to the bit where you emerge from the ruins with the spiders. :D

From memory...

There is a bit where you use the wall jump to get to the next ledge on one of the columns

Normally you would shimmy round and go off towards the right. Instead, when you climb round onto the ledge (that I've drawn as a little _ on the diagram), press left and jump and she will jump and grab onto a ledge on the other pillar. The path shouldn't be too hard to follow after that.

It's at the part were you have to climb, and get down were the first three tigers are...
And if you are dn the ground there's no way to get up again (so far as I know) so I don't want to go down before I have it!

You can easily get that one after you've beaten the second set of tigers. You can get to the secret from that side. So, climbing down is not a bad idea;) .

Can someone PLEASE post how to do a "Chimney Jump"?
... and what buttons for the swan dive? - I forgot...
I found the technique of hitting key sequence was always hit and miss in TRL so I stopped trying... and I couldn't finish the game - I actually got fed up with it out of nostalgia for my fave TR2 &3. Maybe the experience is different with a diffferent platform.

Thanks for posting the pics - I missed the goodie on the swing, but third time playing got the 2 in the tiger area doing a bit more exploring - so fun :cool:

I like this game way better than the first 2 2ndGen games. Graphics are extraordinary; artwork exquisite and atmospheric ambient sounds spot on.

To do the chimney jump just jump towards the wall then, when Lara puts her forearms up and her feet connect, just keep tapping jump. You can tap it as rapidly as you like, you don't need to press any directions.

For the swan dive, run forwards then press jump, quickly followed by crouch/roll.

I was looking at the achievements and it says their are 179 total secrets in the game. So far I found about 60 and I'm in Mexico
