Final Conflict, Giant Muntant trouble - video?

Does anyone have a video of fighting the Giant Mutant in the Final Conflict? While your at it, a video of defeating Natla would be nice also.

I've been reading about how some folks have trouble with the jumps in the great pyramid but I managed all that...and I am not the most patient player.

BUT.... I can't get that big baby of a giant mutant to fall off the ledge even ONCE so that I can shoot a hand off. I've stood right on the edge of that ledge...let it run at me...did the adrenaline dodge properly...and the stupid beast just stops right at the edge and won't fall off! ARRRGG! :mad2:

This is the only part of the game I have not been able to complete....well, this and the rest of this level obviously. I've done all the rest of the time trials in all the levels but I can't finish this level with all the time, health, and ammo in the world so I'm obviously doing something wrong.

Just an aside for the U.S. American's, or anyone else paying attention to our presidential election, does anyone else agree that Cindy McCaine has a strong resemblence to Natla???? Not that I would compare them in personality and cause a fight on the board. I just think she looks like her! :whistle:

Ok, so maybe not a vid...how about just some help? My wrist has a cramp and my shoulder has a knot in it from so much shooting for so long. I am clearly doing something wrong since others seem to not have trouble with this. I just can't get it to go off the edge. It runs at me, I dodge and shoot, and it sits on the edge for a minute as though stunned but never falls off so I can shoot the hand it hangs on by.

Thanks Spong...can you believe after seeing this video I still can't seem to get it. I think what I am doing wrong is that I have to FIRST do a AD/head shot, THEN try to get it to fall of the ledge. I'm off to give it a try. :o

From your starting position, target the Abomination and walk backwards as you fire. Keep an eye on the floor and stop when you get to the edge. Induce the Abomination's Rage Attack and, when you get the Adrenaline Dodge, dive either left or right and then just fire off the head shot. The Abomination should roll forwards and straight off the edge.

I did it! Now I just have to practice it enough to be able to do it in the regular game without the cheats.:D

This forum post helped a little, but i can't even get lara to perform the focus attack in the first place! The monster becomes enraged runs at me, while i walk back, but when i press the B button she doesn't do anything !!

What is happening when you press the B button? Is Lara crouching? If so, to be able to perform the AD correctly, you need to have Lara's weapons out at all times. This means either holding down the button or by setting the combat to Advanced Hold/or toggle modes. This will ensure that Lara performs the dive to the side or back or front flip necessary to avoid the attack. Also remember to stop firing at least long enough for the action to work. Only fire when the red circles line up.

I really don't know how you got to this point without using the AD. It was pretty much mandatory to fight the Centaurs in Tomb of Tihocan.

RAI004, I found that I had to re-practice the adrenaline dodge in this area. I had been using pistols all throughout but am now using unlimited smg rounds. I figured that part of my problem was that I was holding down the "shoot" key constantly and neglecting to stop shooting as I ran to the side to do the head shot. I just kept forgetting to stop firing until I saw the red reticule. Once I figured that out it was not so hard. I don't know if I'll ever be able to do the time trial on the Final Conflict but I'm happy right now just having put that big baby of a monster out of my misery. :D
Also, for some reason watching the video that Sprong linked me to was really helpful. I may need to see the other one for Natla but I'll try to get her without it first.

OMG !! Thanks soo much....yeah i had jus picked up the game after about 7 months of neglect and i really was trying to re-learn the game again....i didn't remember that i HAD to hold that button down constantly...yeah i def hav beaten the game completely now...natla was especially easy after my 4 hour comflict with that stupid scooting-monster-thing :D
