This looks more like a cool technical issue (rather than general, I suppose).
Ha, so it appears that there's a gap/glitch in the ledge detection (while crouched),
and Lara (while crouched in water) can go outside where she can when she can swim. The final part of the video isn't really a surprise, but managing to crawl off the edge of the ledge is definitely something undesired in a game.
Info for the video:
Tomb Raider Underworld shouldn't really be released on November 18, 2008 until these bugs are fixed! xD
Anyway... How this glitch works: When you crouch while dropping from an ledge, Lara stays that way until she hits the water's surface. However, if you keep crouching and touch a rock solid surface at the same time while dropping into the water, Lara hands will be glued to the rocky surface and stuck there permanently allowing you to skip the animation of the Lara going into the water! During this position, you won't *drown* and you can't carry out an *action command*. Also, you are moving AUTOMATICALLY! Also, ocean currents will NOT be present at all. You are free to roam about and go *OoB* around Thailand, bypass any impassable currents, and fall through the map!
Note: Falling under the map WILL freeze your Xbox 360 and the game after falling under the map indefinitely! Meaning that it will freeze the *Xbox Guide* button, and so you have to restart. This is why I quickly went into the pause menu before that happened. : )

yeah the guy said he was joking about not wanting the game released because of the glitch

One would hope that they'd manage to get rid of a lot of these bugs/glitches.
(I don't know about the differences/subtleties between those two terms).
I wonder if this had/has been found in testing
I wonder how much is found that game testers haven't found themselves  If there's a bug, some gamer will find it. :nut:
(saw someone comment this:
Way to go Crystal Dynamics! You just proved that it's possible to make AoD kind of bugs in the year of 2008.
 That's just pathetic).

Theres no possible way to get rid of all bugs and glitches.
You are right though, gamers will ALWAYS end up finding a glitch, I think the ones like the glitch in the demo and the one posted in this thread are funny though, makes the game more interesting considering they're something that the player chooses to do,rather than it just happening
edit: just saw you edited rg lol.
Yeah that comment is rather pathetic, the AOD remark

I'm aware that not all bugs can be removed. Not all known bugs will be removed either because of the time constraint... (high priority/game-crashing bugs go first).
I think what happened at the end of the video (falling forever) happens in ANY game when the player goes outside the collision detection bounds...
I think it's fascinating that glitches like this are found, because it's so obvious and clear what to do, and gamers just trying to break the game. (This would make me think this bug has been found, just not fixed...)
(And I saw your edit in the quote :rasp:)

I like glitches and bugs, they add replay value :)
I wouldn't really want a completely glitch-free game. As long as the glitches do not hinder gameplay then there is no problem with me, Underworld plays just fine, so these glitches can happily stay :D

What the....... .........you can walk on the bottom of the ocean!!
 Thatīs great!
It doesnīt seem to be a glitch that you will often activate in the game by accident, for it took the maker of the video quite some effort to make it work. So it doesnīt really bother me. Like others already said in this thread, every game has a at least one glitch and I think they could be fun. As long as they donīt get activated all the time when you donīt want to or if they really prevent you from moving on in the game, itīs not that big of a deal. ;)

I was able to reproduce this bug. (Well, I got to the bit where she falls to the bottom of the ocean and walks. After that it's predictable). It did not take a lot of effort, just crouching and walking off the edge* seemed to be enough to get this working. I haven't had a good go at the demo yet, so I don't know if this is for ledges that are above grounds as well. (i.e., do they allow Lara to fall off too?).
And pretty much once you fall there's no way to correct it other than to quit demo. (or load game, I suppose).
*this could just be a lucky error in collision detection that all games have... but it worked for me on my first try.

Aaaaaaaw, that sucks. I wonder if this is linked to the fact that we can get to the 'lizard-area'...... (I mean the same glitch)
