I posted this because...its awesome.

Seriously though, Deus Ex is, in my opinion, the greatest game ever made.

I love everything about Deus Ex, ESPECIALLY the dialogue. So I thought I would post the COMPLETE Deus Ex script.

Enjoy!

My word that must have taken a very long time to write! :nut:

That is a work of art in itself, how the hell did you find the time to write all of that?

 He didn't write it, in fact, it's been at gamefaqs for a loooooong time, ROFL. It's just a 'dump' of the game script from the .dxu files or whatever they're called (ie dialogue, datacubes, emails etc.), it's still very helpful of the author to dump it all in one handy text file though.

He just posted the link, the game writers and developers wrote all that ;) It's been posted here before, iirc.

Yes, I did not type the Deus Ex script.

I just found it on GameFaqs and linked it.

And yes, it is a work of art.

Your blog is hilarious, you seem even more paranoid than Ray Kurtzweil ;) I recommend you go see BBC Horizon - Human v2.0 and be even more scared of the technological singularity.

Seriously though, Terminator on the other hand was not a documentary, it's called F-I-C-T-I-O-N.

I don't believe I ever said Terminator was a documentary.

Hey, you're not putting words in my mouth like a dirty little Con$ervative, are you? JK :D

Seriously though, Terminator is a realistic possibility, which is why I oppose R&D for Seed A.I., which the DoD seems so hell bent on pursuing. :(

Honestly, I believe true AI would go depressed rather than megalomaniac about not being able to "live" by themselves and having to relly on second hand experience....

But that's a whole different subject for a whole different topic.

Thanks for the link though, was actually looking for that the other day

UNATCO TROOP
You'll need a few extra LAMs for the demolitions area. Here, catch!
I just like to kid around.
Gets boring down here.
Didn't have my boots polished. That's why they put me here.
They just make up excuses because they like to harass us.
This place would run a lot smoother if they'd just rotate assignments, instead
of always making you feel like you're being punished.
Bastards. I don't have to take this crap. There's lots of things I could be
doing.
I had offers on Wall Street, you know. Top corporate security divisions.
Corporate work's not so glamorous, but it sure pays better.
One of these days, I'm going to resign. Then they'll be sorry. Then they'll wish
they'd treated the troops a little better.

And this my friends is a perfect example of what DX is all about. Even the training dude had a little back story.. I think that this was supposed to happen with all the characters in the game, but they run out of time!!

There you can witness my increasingly futile attempts to come up with scenarios that explain why members of a super-secret global conspiracy keep leaving their passcodes everywhere.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

That was my problem too when i tried to create datacubes in "make a datacube entry". :D :D

True conservatives would never do such a thing, they're too busy pursuing minimal government and nil spending (too bad then they're extinct) ;)

It's not a realistic possibility IMHO. In fact, it's debatable whether or not computers can EVER achieve anything even resembling true self-awareness. At the moment we can simulate the interaction of 20.000 (rodent) brain cells, without stimuli - even if we could extend this to the billions of cells of a human brain, it could not be called self-aware or intelligent. For the next couple of centuries, we're stuck with regular old, obedient to the letter computers.

That doesn't mean we can't build very intelligent computers, robots etc., it just means they'll do exactly what we program them to do (save for those few occasional glitches, thanks to our human, fallible programmers ;) ).
Honestly, I believe true AI would go depressed rather than megalomaniac about not being able to exprience the world by themselves and having to relly on second hand experience...

ALAWAYS keep in mind that the DoD has access to technology years in advance of anything civilians can have access to. The Internet is a great example, as the DoD was using it in the 1980s.

NEVER underestimate the frightening capabilities of the DoD.

And with that, you single-handedly killed this thread.

Also, what Alex said sounds really familiar.

NSF everywhere, JC. Your orders are to shoot on sight. A UNATCO informant on the
North Dock can get you inside the statue. Look for a Bum. Identify yourself with
the phrase "Iron and Copper."
If you want to make a covert approach, remember the academy stealth course: stay
out of their field of view, walk slowly to stay quiet, and crouch behind cover.
Or if you have to get your hands dirty, remember that a headshot is a lethal
takedown.
Be careful; the NSF have set up patchwork security systems here.
