''new kind of playable character'' doesn't sound like its necessarily a person, could be a doppleganger(probably horribly spelled that) or something.

Anyhow people are getting too worked up about it, its only DLC and doesn't effect Underworld at all really, just something extra after your finished with the actual game.

its just an add on to Underworld with extra playable levels, it doesn't affect the storyline at all Raiderx and has no huge significance to it. That's why I tell people that its no big deal.

It's not a big deal because others on wii,ps2,ps3,pc don't have it, thats not it at all and if people thinks thats what ive been saying then they're mistaken.

I'm saying its just not that big of a deal BECAUSE it doesn't have any impact on the story at all and its just a couple extra levels.

The 'shadow' to me seems to be metaphorical, meaning that darker edge to Lara namely that determination to reach her goals she seems to have in this game that makes her slightly more dangerous. This is what will make lara 'a new kind of playable character.'

I'm not going to make any guesses as to what this new kind of playable character is, simply because I honestly don't have a clue. However, I am glad that it is being introduced into the series.

It may be DLC, but it certainly shows that Eidos and CD are considering the potential of another playable character within the series...I'm sure if this new character becomes popular enough or is successful within its own spinoff extra...then they just might incorporate it/him/her within the canon and lore of the main series.

Personally, I like what they're doing and even more excited by the possibilities it might bring forth.

True indeed...I know it most likely won't affect anything in terms of the main story line.

If it were the case that this new character could have an impact, then Eidos and CD are most likely using this DLC option to test if the new character might have legs of its own and quite possibly add to the main story...if fans like it that is. Which I personally think is smart...seeing as how a lot of fans have already expressed an extreme to mild aversion for Kurtis Trent (personally, I like him).

At least that's what I'm hoping for. It's all speculation, but the DLC excites me regardless.

I think EIDOS went with 360 for the DLC mainly because of how well the xbox 360 is going to sell during the holidays, with the 360 now being $199, they're assuming alot of people are going to be buying 360 consoles and hopefully get interested in Tomb Raider, so they're banking on trying to get as much out of it as possible.

Also yeah its been rumored that theres PS4/new Xbox in the making all ready so who knows.

"Lara's Shadow" was a term used to describe Kurtis Trent in the Making of AOD. He was trailing her and tracking her. Though, it's probably just a coincidence with the name. Eidos hasn't shown any interest in going there again.

I'd bet decent money that the character is Amanda. Which I'm not excited about in the slightest.

had any of you thought that maybe the clues "Laras Shadow" and "New Kind Of Playable Character" could maybe mean that the charachter is the player? I mean who else would be laras shadow other than the person playing the game, the person that follows behind her the whole time! Its being released to the xbox live marketplace and it is obviously not going to 'just' be a new character. This is Microsoft we're dealing with here, they will not pay eidos millions just for a shoddy new skin to play with, it will be so much more than that.
